What do you do about a child who cant be quiet?

The problem:
My aunts 7 year old cant keep her mouth shut about anything. My aunt child tells her father everything, no matter what. She also makes up things such as " Mom says its 10 dollars and you dont need anymore you greedy blank." her mom did say it was 10 bucks but that was it. The child is getting my aunt in trouble with her ex due to the fact he believes everything the kid says. What can we do to get her to stop being such a blaber mouth.

Sounds like this kid knows how to get a reaction out of people and enjoys doing it. I know all kids can kind of like the shock value of saying something well, shocking at times, but there'd be some serious consequences for mine-especially if it was causing friction with my ex. Life it hard enough when you have to deal with an ex-spouse, but to add that into the mix just wouldn't be flying with me. Not much you can do about what the other parent believes, but I'd do my best to convey what is really happening-whether the other parent believes that or not though is out of your control.

The first thing is to stop having ANY sort of conversation like that in front of the girl. I know its' not you, but your aunt. She's getting that style of talking from SOME place...if it's not from your aunt, it's from someplace else. She needs to figure that out (it was a hobby of my mom's, to figure out where a new style of speech of mine came from...I'm a huge mimic).

Also sounds like the girl is ANGRY. Most kids don't want to start issues between their parents...many kids want to get their parents back together, and what she's doing certainly isn't going to cause THAT to happen! I'd want to try to really talk to her, figure out what's going on in her head for her to want to do that sort of thing.

But first, make sure that your aunt isn't saying ANYTHING about ANYONE that the girl could possibly copy and re-tell...

All of the above, plus whenever possible don't acknowledge that type of behavior, if she is just talking to show off ignore her.
