We just got back from our fabulous 9-28 Wonder cruise. We hung a big Husker "N" on our stateroom door, and 2 Castaway Club magnets on either side of it. It looked great! The next morning the "N" was gone and the 3rd night, one of the CC signs was stolen, also. Who would do such a tacky thing - inconsiderate adults? unsupervised kids? Or, maybe it's against some rules. Anyway, has anyone else hung decorations on their doors & how long did they last?

(By the was, Golden Mickeys is fabulous and we saw Under the Tuscan Sun and Nemo at the movies - also great!)

I had these magnets up on our door all week of our cruise, and they were not touched. Our tablemates had one of the little round magnets, I made, on their door, and it was stolen on the last night of the cruise. It's a shame people can't keep their hands off of other people's decorations.

dk, sorry that happened. Something like that kind of blows that happy feeling! Maybe the more specific the decorations, the less likely they'll disappear? It would have been hard for anyone else to enjoy Andy's decorations since they were pretty specifically for them.

Sorry it happened.

That is such a sad thing to happen. Makes you wonder why someone would do that kind of thing on a DISNEY cruise of all places.

I hope they get an ill feeling everytime they look at it.

Chances are, yes, Verandah Man's were so specific they meant nothing to others if stolen. I guess I will make mine specific also.

BTW, does Staples sell the magnetics to print on?

I bought the magnets I printed from invent-it .com, but they have since, gone out of business. I know there are other sites on the internet you can purchase magnetic sheets from, and I believe you can pick them up at Staples as well.

Hearing stuff like that just makes me so sad... I'm planning on decorating the door for my little boy's birthday, and it will just make me sick if someone takes the decorations!! What is wrong with people??

Maybe they should just let DIS'ers on the ship... then nothing like that would ever happen. :)

We put the very special decorations we brought inside the cabin and the more general things on the outside of the door each time. Then if something "walks" it is not something we care as much about. If anything was missing from inside the stateroom, we could ask our stateroom host and I am sure it would be found. We have NEVER HAD A PROBLEM with things left in our room being disrupted however. The stateroom hosts are wonderful.

And, if you go out of your way to learn how to pronounce their name as they prefer it in their home language, they are so impressed and happy!! It is worth it to see the smiles.

We had Wioletta from Poland last year. Some people on our hall called her Violet. Our friends and we said it with a definite W sound at the beginning and the A at the end and she BEAMED every time. I think we got extra chocolate mints on our pillows because of that and she always arranged my little stuffed bear with the towel animals or pillows as if he was waiting for us. Extra touches that made the cruise special.

'Cause I'm planning on putting up some Lime Green Mickey's and my DIS board Name on. I guess I'll have to make extra of the Lime Green Mickey's, just in case!

We put magnets our two doors 2594 and 2596 during our cruise in August, with Verandahman. The kids door had the "Cruisin with our Friends" magnet that Andy made for our son to celebrate his birthday and our door had the wonderful round magnet that Andy made for everyone with the dates of the cruise. I also had made a few magnets of my own (not as nice as Andys), for my son's birthday. I also found that on Friday when I went to pack the round magnet that Andy made was taken, all the others were still there. I too didn't understand why some one would take it.

This also happend to me.

I did a back to back cruise on the Magic. I stuck a Castaway Cay magnet on my door to start with (that I took with me) and then I bought a magnet from each port we visited and added them to the door. Unfortunatly on the 4th day of my first cruise the Key West magnet went missing, and then on the 5th day of my second cruise the St Maarten magnet went missing.

Luckly, I had bought spares of each, but still it was very sad to see them stolen. :(

Our "Happy Birthday Fred" sign stayed on the door the entire seven day cruise. We were always surprised to see it hadn't disappeared. We thought maybe someone would scribble on it, but no one did. It was made by a friend as a birthday surprise.
