Magnetic Paper Questions

HELP!
I bought some magnetic paper (not cheap, $6.99 for 3 sheets @Hobby Lobby) to print out some characters to decorate our door @Pop in September.
When I go to print what I want on it the top of the character's head is cut off! The rest of the image is fine...it seems like the printer doesn't start printing right away????
Do I need to adjust my printer settings? To what?
(The magnetic paper is thicker than regular paper.)
I hope some one has some experience with this because I don't want to waste any more paper!

I noticed this as well with mine when I printed some out. I don't know if it makes any difference, I got my paper at Staples (10 sheets for like $10 or $12). I did have to adjust the settings until I got it right. I started out making it smaller than I thought it needed to be and kept moving the margin out on the page until I got to the edge of the magnet page (I had multiple pages to print of different things so I didn't waste too much)
