Magicbands...we have the grey ones but want color!

So our last trip in October, since we booked last minute we got the grey magic bands. We just booked our next trip a month from now, and want color magic bands. How can we do this? We saw how to "de-activate" them in the website, but how can we order new ones?

Go into your MDE account under my magicbands and see if it allows you to customize. If it doesn't, you may have too short of a window again. Deactivating your old ones wouldn't make any difference since you can still use those if you choose. They stay linked to your account. The cut off for ordering is exactly one month prior to date of check in.

Hmm I have 32 days...I am unable to change the colors?

Hmmm...I'm going by what it says on my customizing screen. We check in 8/13 and my cut off is 7/13. Maybe you should call.

Last trip I customized mine only 3 weeks out and they arrived on time. You should be able to customize.

Or one recent trip we didn't get them, on arrival they gave to us at the desk and let us pick our colors.

We check in 3 weeks from today, and I just decided that I want one of the new bands and was able to customize. I would call.

I switched up our reservation 17 days before check in, and was able to pick the colors. Our new magic bands arrived yesterday, 7 days out from check in.

Is there a message you're getting? How are you getting to the spot where you can't customize?

Even if you're too close to checkin to have them shipped they can have them for you at the desk. Did that last year with a last minute reservation.

I just went to the WDW site and it states on the top "May 7, 2017
While we work to provide the best possible Guest experience at Walt Disney World Resort, some of our digital experiences are undergoing technical challenges and may currently be unavailable, but we are actively working to resolve. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

Maybe that's the issue?

Though I just added my resort reservation to MDE, then went to MagicBands and Cards, and the ability to customize was there. Of course, the WDW site wouldn't be the WDW site if it didn't glitch all the time.

I had to call earlier, and a cast member got someone from IT to help out. We should have our customized bands soon!

We ordered wraps (basically stickers) that go on our bands. Check out Etsy magic band wraps if you are interested. DH has Millennium Falcon, DS has BB8, DS has hockey, and I got a Lily Pulitzer design. Fun way to jazz them up!
