Magicbands for upcoming trip

Hi All,

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, I'm a bit behind my "disney reading."

We will be staying at AKL in mid September. From my understanding, magicbands are not formally rolled out yet (just testing here and there). I was playing around with the magicband option on the disney website a few days ago and now just got a confirmation that magicbands have been shipped to my house?

Are these live yet or is AKL part of the beta? Will these magicbands be functional when I get there?

From my understanding, the magic bands are up and running at most resorts. What they are still testing is the Fast Pass Plus system. That is what people are getting emails inviting them to participate if they are staying at select resorts. The magic bands use the same RFID technology as the KTTW cards right now. So they will definitely work for park entry, room entry, dining credits, etc.

Just got back from AKL. �� They are still testing the Magic Bands there. We were staying DVC and they are not using the bands yet. Everyone I talked to loved them.
