I tried doing a search and didn't really find any other threads about this. I'm sure some here have gone themselves, or with a family member with an implanted pacemaker and defibrillator. Will the MagicBands cause a problem for these devices? My Mom is coming with up this trip (at least hoping to, health permitting) and it just dawned on me since the bands are about to be shipped out that this could be an issue. She is contacting the manufacturuer(s) of the devices, to find out, and I'm optimistic that it will be okay. However, I thought I'd ask here if anyone has gone through this and what was your experience?

1) The Magic Bands have no influence upon pacemakers.
2) However, the price sticker shock at WDW well might.

This has come up before and this is what was said.
The insert that comes with the MB's says to keep them at least 6-8 inches away from any medical device.
Someone contacted some of the companies and none of them thought there would be any type of interference. I'm sure what WDW says is a CYA thing just in case.

Thanks for the replies.

My mom contacted the device manufacturer. They said there shouldn't be a problem. The only way there could be a problem was if a band was within 6 inches of the device for an extended period of time.

This came with my MB this week.

My husband has a pacemaker. He is in his 30's so he has a newer pacemaker (it is less than 5 years old).

The band nor any of the rides should have any effect on his pacemaker. He had no issues with the band when we used them in the fall. He did get sick in the heat in the spring though and felt like his heart / chest was giving him issues, but I think it was dehydration. Fall with the band was a breeze compared to that.

Thanks Hopper for posting.

So, in other words, don't keep your band on a lanyard round your neck (as some people have suggested to stop their wrists from getting sweaty).

I too, was concerned about MBs so when we went in January-February, we requested no MB. We had no problems what so ever. We just used our cards.

Don't wear it on your right wrist and attempt to say the pledge of allegiance!
