MagicBand Room Access App Feature

Not sure if new or just new to me, but haven’t seen it discussed much (or maybe I’ve been living under a rock). During your stay, there’s now a feature to program your MagicBand in the app. Pretty handy for those of us with consistent MB issues for room access requiring visits to the front desk. Worked like a charm for me. As always with Disney IT, YMMV.

I have had to go to the GCH many times and stand inline when the band wouldn't open the pool gate.

I wonder if the challenges are with the MB+? We have Gen 2 MBs and those have worked consistently for us over the years.

Glad they’ve put a fix in place for the newer MBs that seem to have challenges.

Certain resorts seem to have more issues than others. Like I’ve never had an issue at Pop but WL has been problematic- especially their club level. Ugg, that was the worst for needing recoding!

I’ve had no issue with my MB + at OKW, WL, or YC. I seem to recall I had more issue with my 2.0 band bands but can’t remember which resorts. Glad there’s something in the app to help now!
