Magicband Question

Im sorry if theres a specific place to ask Magicband questions, I didnt easily find it! Our trip is in a month. I originally had a room booked through the Disney site, cash reservation & already ordered & received our Magicbands, which look to be active on my app. Now Ive cancelled the cash reservation & rebooked through renting DVC points so I could get the room category that I really wanted. Do I have to do anything to link my Magicbands to this new reservation? When I click Resort info within the app, it looks like theres an option to choose Magicbands. Do I just ignore that?

Your MBs are linked to your MDE Account and not your initial resort reservation or any changes. You don't need to do anything further.

As to additional MBs for your DVC rental click the link if you want additional MBs (there may be a slight charge if you want more MBs).

Thanks so much! So can I use more than one magic band? We bought upgraded magicbands that had characters on them. If i wanted to order maybe a solid color magicband thats discounted, could i just wear the solid color one 1 day, and the character one the next, and my c/c is still attached to each?

Your credit card has nothing to do with your Magic Bands. Magic Bands are linked to your MDE account, period. As long as they are linked and active you can use whichever ones you want whenever.

I have like 12 bands active on mine.

Yes you can have many, many, many MBs and they are linked to your MDE account. Note: once you have a MB linked to an individual you are unable to re-assign them to another person simulator to how tickets work.

Again your C/C is linked to your account the MB just has a RFID enabled Chip that is read by the tapstiles or MB readers.

Just be warned that if you have any trouble using Magic Bands while you are at DisneyWorld, the cast members will tell you that the problems are caused by having too many Magic Bands active in your account. Is this actually true or just a line that the cast members are supposed to say? Who knows, but that's what you will be told. (Some people with many active Magic Bands have had no problems, and some people with very few active Magic Bands have had many problems.)

Ok so if im understanding this correctly, my cc is linked to MDE and so is my magicband. I dont have to do anything for my cc to be linked to the band.
Can I use my magic band to pay for meals instead of pulling out my cc?
Also, would you advise against me using 2 bands on my trip based on one of the responses above? I was thinking it would be nice to grab my favorite solid color since its only $5.

Yes as long as you are a Disney resort guest and you have your CC linked via Online check-in and you have assigned a PIN at that time or by stopping by the Front desk and having them help you set a PIN for your hotel portfolio if you have any questions or concerns.

This is because when using your MB for purchases, you have to enter a 4 digit PIN and you are actually charging your purchases back to your hotel folio and not directly to your CC.

No you can have several active MBs (2 will be no problem) on your MDE Account. The comment from @Best Aunt was primary concerning issues where guests have more than 20 MBs active.

I have seen where having multiple active magic bands will cause a problem. This happened to my wife last year. She probably had 20 or so active. Our hotel front desk was able to correct the problem.
