MagicBand Decline over Multiple reservation

Hi all, so I already know you can decline a magicband. But apparently only if you already have one. Which typically would be fine.

Except, it seems if you have a multi-hotel vacation, you can't get your FIRST magic band, then decline all the others. You need one on file. I have a couple of people staying in three separate hotels, we are coming down first week of January. We don't want a mess of magicbands, but rather would like to receive the FIRST one, then decline the others. But it won't let us because they don't ALREADY have a magicband on file. ( I was able to decline for anyone coming who has come before and have one on file ).

If there ANY way around this? I'm trying to avoid calling Disney IT or Customer Service... but it looks like I might have to...

Easy enough If you customize them early enough to have them sent to your house, just leave them home. Don't want to waste them, sell them on ebay (unlink them first) and kids can use them with their Disney Infinity games to unlock stuff.

Or take them with you and give them to the front desk clerk to recycle.

Or keep them and link them together to make a Christmas tree garland.

If you don't customize them in time to have them shipped, you will be told to pick them up a the front desk. Pick up your first sedt and decline the others. Disney will recycle them.

I've done split stays, and sometimes wasn't issued a band at second resort. Was nothing I did or didn't do.

I noticed that the All-Stars won't even look for your MB unless you ask them. That is at least if you are already wearing one. I lost one, though not a big deal as it was plain gray because I didn't customize it in time, as I forgot to ask and the CM didn't automatically check to see if I had one waiting. I assume it was recycled because a day or two later it was removed from my MDE.

I like collecting MBs. I have Purple (AS Movies) and Orange (AP) as well as a couple of Graphic MBs. I just need Pink, which I should be receiving in a couple weeks (Just clicked "Ship Now") to complete the basic colors I want.

Yes, I heard they are quick to recycle. As Canadians we don't get our bands shipped, we pick them up at the desk. One family got in late, had delays, and bands were recycled.

I take all three of mine with me because they are all different colours and I match them to what I'm wearing that day. Even DH will change his up daily just for fun. I say customize both and use them. Plus, if you lose one or have trouble with one, you have an immediate backup. They don't take up much space and you'll save time not calling.
