MagicBand+ battey life...is this normal?

I am aware of that. But I have also heard that using Magic Mobile is a massive battery drain and my phone already has that problem, so I will likely disable that on my phone.
We had all kinds of problems with our + bands when they were new. We spent like 2 hours in GS and that didn't help.

A software update finally helped. We were initially told to update MDE, but that didn't work. We were also told to uninstall/reinstall MDE. Initially that also did nothing. Still, those are steps you can try.

The other major problem that we have is they do not stay on our wrists, unlike all our prior bands. We took to wearing old bands and carrying the +bands. (though there are other options). On a more recent trip, the plus bands worked a bit better. Though we still only kinda use them.

Just using MDE and G+ drains our phones. So we have also taken to carrying a Fuel Rod, plus another inexpensive portable charger. We got the Fuel Rod for free, and a plus of it is that when it runs down, we can quickly swap it at any of the kiosks. Thought that introduces another problem- finding the kiosks.

We did buy band keepers and yesterday at Disneyland, they stayed on all day.

The battery also lasted all day. We got a light up interaction at a 100th celebration medallion on our way out around 9pm after a full day.

We did update the software after the first initial charge. When you buy the bands, they do need a software update, BUT the battery needs to be charged to at least 50% to do the update so you can't do it right after purchasing them.

We all carry large capacity Anker chargers that can charge our phones fully 2.5 times. But my phone drains fast enough that I have to charge it twice a day in an 8 hour park day now, and I just hate having to have it plugged in so often. I don't want to use an app feature that is going to cause even more drainage. I probably need a new phone, but won't be getting one before the trip.

We did that, and much more, all in the company of a CM in guest services with her help. We were there for quite a while, as I reported at the time. Nada.

That was shortly after the bands were initially released though. It is my understanding that Disney did multiple software updates. We also had a weird problem where we'd collect a bunch of statues, but then, the next day- they mysteriously un-collect. We weren't all that invested in collecting them, but it was still mildly annoying.

We have not tried playing the games yet.

My battery is slowly getting worse as well, but it is only ever a problem at WDW. I agree it is a pain having to charge. I try to do it whenever we stop to eat or see a show.
