MagicBand+ - A Cautionary Tale

I bought 2 for our upcoming trip and mine would not do the initial link no matter how I tried with it, tapping, scanning the QR code or manually typing in the number. My husband's worked no problem. I ended up calling the web tech support number (only one I could find that dealt with tech) and the girl was able to manually add it to my account from her end. Once it was associated with my account, I could do the BT connection no problem.

All of this is spot on (software engineer too). Android works great except for the hacked to all devil's version that Samsung distributes. I had one Samsung device and changed over to a Pixel. The experience is 10x better and things just work.

I've balked at going to an iPhone even though every one else in my family has one. I have my reasons, but I'm beginning to think of capitulating even though I don't really like it. I'm wondering what you think of your Pixel and why you chose it?

Edited to say I have a Samsung and have been mostly happy with it except that it doesn't interact well with iPhones.

Can confirm as an iOS developer on a large mobile team that the Android engineers generally hate Samsung and what they do to Android. We have had some of the strangest bugs that only occur on some rando Samsung phone. Our testers have a very large bank of Android devices to test with but Samsung puts out a new phone every 27 seconds so you can’t expect everything to get caught.
