Folks,
Does anyone knows what to do if you are using Magical Express and your bags are taged with flight information but then you get bumped and have to take a later flight?
Has this ever happened to anyone?
Thanks

That's one of the advantages of using Disney's Magical Express as designed. It doesn't matter if you end up on an earlier flight or a later flight than your bags.

Your bags are tagged with a your resort name and a bar code that identifies your reservation. The DME tags don't have your flight information. The airline tag, not the DME tag, has your flight number and destination airport (MCO).

If you put the yellow tags on your bags before you check them at your home airport, you don't have to deal with them again until they're delivered to your room. The bags will be delivered to your room some time after you check in and your room is available. You don't have to wait in your room because Disney takes care of the inbound bell service gratuity.

Do you mean going to Orlando or returning home? Returning home, they would probably be put on the earlier flight and you can get them when you get to your home airport.

Debbie,
I was thinking of going to Orlando, I once asked "if I could send my bags by ME and take a car/limo to the resort (to save time)", I was told "NO" since they would not load luggage for any passanger who did not get on a bus. So my concern is if I get bumped but my luggage goes to Orlando before I do... what will they do with it. If I call with the new flight information my bags still have the wrong info on it?
Worried about flying during peak periods!

When you check in at the Magical Express Welcome Center at Orlando International, it will set off the usual events — even if you check in later than scheduled. Some people might check in later because of a flight delay, some because they took a voluntary bump, some because they ate lunch or dinner in the terminal, and some due to denied boarding (an involuntary bump).

Checking in for Magical Express (and having your voucher scanned) later than scheduled is completely different than someone trying to get luggage-only transfers without riding the motorcoach. The first is common and allowable; the other is not allowed.

I think the OP is asking what happens to the bags until you check in at the ME desk at MCO.

All bags that are tagged are taken to the place where they are sorted. Your bags will get sorted but will not be put on the truck (to WDW) until you get on the ME bus.

Ed

Thanks for the info...
I feel better just knowing there is a procedure to deal with bags and passengers not arriving together.
