I just got back from a wonderful trip to BWV. I bought an add on at BWV and regretted it for a long time. The last time I went the pool was so crowded I had to walk 10 miles to get anywhere and I thought it was loud. Anyway I had a totally different experience this time and I LOVED it. My room was close and convient. It was standard view so there was no noise at all. We walked to epcot and MGM, it was WONDERFUL the pool was empty ( too cold for others to swim;) ) The decorations were beautiful, I can not say enough on how much we loved the resort. The only word of warning is make sure you bring your reservation showing you have the dining plan if you have it. With all of the computer glitches lately they deleted our DP and gave us a really hard time before letting us have it. So bring your paper with you. All I can say is I want to go back!!:sad1:

I'm so happy to hear that you loved BWV!

How was your room? Was the maintenance and mousekeeping super? Do you have any tips on where to request for the standard view. We are staying standard for the 1st time in January.

We love your home resort of HHI too!

Glad you had a great trip....

Just curious.....what time of year did you go last time.....and what
room type did you have.....what was the view....

Was it the luck of the draw that got you a closer room this time....

Do you have any info about the community hall. Is there supervised
activities there.....
thanks

We also just got back from a stay at BWV. LOVED IT!!! Loved the location of this resort. We were in a standard 1 bedroom. Watched Illumination fireworks from our balcony. We were one of the farther rooms from the elevator....but for those who think it's a long walk it doesn't compare to being on the far end of POR or CSR. We think a Boardwalk view would be wonderful, but wondered if it would be loud througout the evening. Pool had virtually no one in it. Boys could use the slide with no waiting. Mousekeeping was wonderful. Registration went very smooth and very quickly. :thumbsup2

It's good to hear that you had a great trip. :thumbsup2 We love the BWV although the walks can be long. We have learned how to take short cuts and cut through to make the trip a little shorter. Also, you are so right about the pool being crowded. We often travel in the summer and it can really be a task to find a table or chair to sit down at. It sounds from recent posts though that Disney has been helping out with that a little by removing towels from chairs that people save and are not really using.

Last time we had a Boardwalk view studio, we went during spring break (never again!;) ) Yes it was the luck of the draw our room was assigned when we got there. They put us next door to my parents which I did not even know was possible. ( We both had SV studios) I hope to get the same rooms next time! We had 2097 and 2099.:cloud9:

Boardwalk was the site of our first trip to Disney as a family and will always be our favorite -- that trip could not have been any more magical! I love everything about it and can't wait to visit again (but we have resolved to try every DVC resort before doing it).

Go Boardwalk!

The community hall is open from 9am until 10pm. It is located next to the pool on the villa side and along the walking path to the Disney-MGM Studios.

There are 4 scheduled activities a day, including 2 free and 2 that you have to pay for. There are anywhere from 1-3 cast members at the community hall at any one time. These cast members supervise the activities but cannot take responsibility for the kids like at a children's activity center such as Sandcastle Club. Depending on the age of your child, you may want to be there to help them with the craft/activity.

Activities done at the hall:
- design a backpack (fee)
- design a t-shirt (fee)
- design a coaster- for drinks (fee)
- decorate a beach ball (fee)
- paint a piggy bank (fee)
- paint a treasure chest (fee)
- design an umbreall (fee)
- decorate a doorhanger (free)
- decorate a memory book (free)
- make a picture frame (free)
- pin trading (free)
- boardwalk scavenger hunt (free)
- design your own shoelaces (free)
- tissue paper characters (free)
- goofy bingo- with a prize for all! (free)
- family board game night (free)
- family craft nigth (free)
- paint a wooden car (free)

The activities are at 12:30, 2:00, 4:00, and 6:30. They will usually let you do any activity that has a fee associated to it whenever you want- within reason. The free activities have to be done at their specific time. You can pick up schedules at the community hall and they list the activities each day on a board outside the door. There are free games, including game cube, foosball, and ping pong. Disney movies or the Disney Channel play all day long. You can just go in and color a picture too. This is also where you do movie, lifejacket, bike, tennis racket, board game, and noodle rentals. Please note that all of these, with the exception of noodles, require a room card. Movie rentals are free for DVC members and are $5 per movie for non-members.

Any other questions, feel free to ask. :D

Someday we will visit BWV. We've heard so much about it. Our goal is to visit all the different DVC resorts eventually.

Glad you enjoyed your trip we are going to try to get in for a July stay .

A few more days and I can see what avail.
