I forgot about our call from Prince Charming. He would be opening the Magic Kingdom the next morning with the Main Street Players (is that what they are called). I gotta get that right for the scrapbook. How would we ever get any sleep now. We were supposed to meet him there at 8:45. I have always wanted to see the opening to the Magic Kingdom. What a perfect day for it!
We were up, ready and out in no time the next morning. We got to the MK around 8:30. As we were walking to get on the ferry we saw Chip, Dale and Pluto. The CM took pictures of all of us together. He even took some wonderful candid shots of the characters talking and interacting with us. I did not get that CM's name and I really hate that because he captured some very special moments. Usually they just take the one posed shot. I love the pictures that he took for us.
Just as we got through the turnstiles and stood over to the side to decide where we wanted to stand for the opening of the park this woman in a lime green shirt walked up to Mike. I didn't hear what she said but I heard him say yes that's her. She walked over to me and said are you mommie2angels? I said yes! She said well I recognized your family right away from the Disboards and your pictures. It was wuvtigger. I was so excited!!! She said go over to my husband and call him by his name and watch him freak. As I walked over to him I began to holler his name. He looked at me like do I know you. I told him who I was. We all stood together talking and getting to know each other. We even got someone to take a picture of us. As soon as I locate that CD I will post a picture.
The opening of the park was wonderful!!! The Main Street Players danced and sang. Then the train came pulling into the station and off came Mickey to welcome everyone. What a way to start the day! As it was ending I walked up closer to get a picture of our friend who was performing. He hopped through the train and was gone. I was bummed thinking I had missed such a good opportunity even though I did get some great pictures.
Us and wuvtigger's crew walked on into the park. As we rounded the corner there he was. He was waiting to see the girls. We got some good pictures. He told us what time he would be coming down Main Street on the trolley. We told him we would be there to watch.
Wuvtigger's dh was celebrating his birthday that week so he went and got himself a birthday pin. We got a great picture of he and our birthday girl Michala. We told them bye and hoped to run into them later. We could have spent the whole day with them. They were lots of fun to spend time with.
Mike didn't have time to eat breakfast since I pushed him out the door so early. He stopped to get something at the Main Street Bakery. Before he went in I saw wuvtigger and her crew taking pictures in front of the castle. I ran over and took a couple of them. They turned out great. I hope to be able to post the pictures to the Disboard soon. As the girls and I were waiting out on the side walk for him the Dapper Dans came up to speak to the girls. They saw Michala's birthday pin and sang Happy Birthday to her. Mychal from the Barber Shop had told us earlier that week that if they saw her they would do that. I wish I would have had the video camera. They were wonderful and Michala was so excited!!! She loved it!!! Lots of people stopped to tell her Happy Birthday then. I asked if I could take a picture of them with her. They decided we should all move out into the street and take a group picture in front of the castle. Mike was still in the Bakery and was missing it all. The Dapper Dans didn't hesitate to get the girls wheelchairs off the sidewalk and onto Main Street USA. They overwhelmed me with their kindness and their warm spirits. They were in no hurry at all. CM Dean said that he would take it. He took a "perfect" picture. After the photo they all helped us back onto the sidewalk.
As we were waiting for Mike and very nice CM came up and brought the girls a bag of candy. She spent some time talking with the girls and really getting to know us. It was all real Main Street USA. I loved having time to really enjoy Main Street. Usually we are just rushing through to get to Buzz Lightyear. Mike and the girls ate the bagel while we told him all about what he missed. CM Dean was still standing there so we asked him to take a family picture of us in front of the castle.
We had just enough time to go over and ride Buzz Lightyear before coming back to see the trolley. As we were walking up to Buzz Lightyear Mike said there's your friend. Wuvtigger was getting a fast pass. I stopped her and told them to ride with us. They went through with us. It was so much fun to get to ride that with them. I told them to make sure not to get off the ride and we could ride again if no one was waiting for the wheelchair car. This is one of the girls favorite rides. We had so much fun riding with wuvtigger and crew. I think she had a great score but I can't remember what it was.
They were heading over to Toontown and we had to go back to Main Street so we said goodbye again. Mike decided he wanted to go back and get Michala's picture from the Buzz Lightyear ride. The girls and I were waiting for him and wuvtigger came back cause she remembered she had her camera. So we got a picture off all of us together minus my dh cause he was gone and wuvtigger's dh was taking the picture.
As we were going back to Main Street we turned the corner and there was Buzz Lightyear with no one waiting to see him. We of course went over for a picture and autograph which is a stamp since he can't hold a pen.
We went halfway down Main Street so that we would be at the second stop for the trolley. There was a family standing next to us and when the trolley stopped further up they asked would it stop again. I told them yes it would actually stop right in front of us and then again further down. They said how nice to know someone that knows the scoop. They asked how I knew that and I told them that we had a friend dancing. They asked which one he was when they stopped in front of us. The girls had a perfect view of the dancers and our friend. I got some great pictures. After they were done we walked to the next stop to see them perform again. It was really a lot of fun.
We stopped by Casey's for a hotdog. While the girls and I sat outside and waited for Mike to get them Miss Victoria came by. We had never met her before. She was just the neatest lady. She took up lots of time with the girls and let Michala touch her pearls. I took a picture of her with the girls and she asked me to send her a copy of it. She was telling me about how much her dress weighs. It is very heavy and I am sure it's tiring to walk around in it especially on those hot Florida days.
While we were sitting outside eating our hotdogs the trolley came by with the dancers. Another great photo opportunity and perfect seats to watch them perform. We didn't even time it that way but it was perfect!
We went over to try to ride Pirates of the Caribbean. Mary Elizabeth's wheelchair doesn't fold up and she is so heavy to carry that far. We really wanted to ride it though. Mike carried Mary Elizabeth, Marlee Anne walked and I pushed Michala in her wheelchair. Once we got up to the boat Mike got in with Mary Elizabeth. I put Marlee Anne in and then got Michala out of her wheelchair. The CM folded up her wheelchair and put it in the back of the boat. Not a real convenient ride but it was fun.
We were meeting Prince Charming behind the castle at 1:00 so we headed up that way. We had a little bit of extra time so we stopped to see Mickey's Philharmagic again. After it was over we went over to meet "our" Prince Charming. We had made he and the cast of Cinderella's Surprise Celebration a video CD and wrote them a letter. We gave it to him and visited with him a little bit until he had to go get ready for the parade.
We had ressies at the Liberty Tree so we went over there to eat. The food was as wonderful as always. It was perfect timing once again and we just walked right out and got seated for the parade. The girls got chosen to be in the parade. That was a lot of fun! Prince Charming and Cinderella blew kisses as they passed us.
After the parade we went over to Goofy's Country Dancin Jamboree. The girls were seated over to the side of the stage in their wheelchairs. They were not able to see the stage but enjoyed the music. DD#3 and I went out to the dance floor to watch the show. We met some really nice people sitting around us. At the end of the show all the characters get together for a picture. Since the girls were not able to see it I thought I would get a good picture for them. This was the third time we had been to the show and I didn't have a picture of the characters at the end. There was a very tall man standing in front of us so I had to hold my camera over my head to take a picture. As I was walking over to help Mike with the girls a lady came up to me and told me that for future reference if I hold my camera up like that the only thing the people behind me get is a picture of my camera. I was very fast with taking the picture and took my camera down right away. I explained to her that I was trying to get the picture so that my daughters would be able to see the cast. I even pointed to them in her wheelchair because by this time the whole place was empty. She told me that I ruined her picture. I told her that I was very sorry that I ruined her picture. I realize that she will not get that shot back and I was truly very sorry. She said very rudely just remember there are other people in the world too. I was so upset and didn't know what else I could say. Before I could say anything she stomped off.
We had to stop by the restroom to change the girls diapers. I took Michala in and changed her. As I was putting her back in her wheelchair Mike took Mary Elizabeth in to change her diaper. There was a family sitting beside us and the little boy was asking questions to his parents about Michala's leg being gone. His parents were very nice to say well I think it will be fine if you ask about it. The boy was very polite and ask why she didn't have a leg. I asked if he knew what cancer was and I went on to explain what happened to her. The mother told me that she was a special ed teacher and she knew what a challenge we had with two special needs children. She said you must be very blessed. How wonderful for her to see that! I told both of them that I was so thankful that they allowed their son to ask. So many times parents pull their children away from the girls in fear of them "catching" something. As Mike came out with Mary Elizabeth he spoke to them like he knew them. They told us to have a very blessed day. Such a sweet and wonderful family. The more than made up for the previous episode in Goofy's show. As we were walking away Mike told me that they were over by he and the girls during the Goofy show.
We stopped by to get a Dole Whip before heading out. It was Halloween and the park was closing at 6 for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. We stopped by The Expo to look at some pictures we had taken earlier in the week. The line was so very long and we decided not to wait. We had never been in the back of the Expo. That was too cool! All those neat little photo spots and the movie theater with an old Disney movie or cartoon playing. We loved it. Hope to go back next time and take some pictures in there.
We went to Downtown Disney to Trick or Treat. It was so packed over there. By the time we got there they were mostly out of candy. It was fun to walk around for a little while though.
We got back to the All Star and I decided to pack up as much as I could that night after we got the girls their oatmeal and medicines. Marlee Anne did not want to let me pack so Mike took her down to the football field. I just knew when they came back about an hour later that she would be sound asleep. No such luck! She was wide open. Mike said she loved it down there so they headed back down. Finally she got tired and was ready for bed.
