Cast- DD age 9 Thrill ride lover
DS age 12 Thrill ride avoider
Ds age 15 Won't admit how much he likes WDW
DH age 42 Along for the ride
Me Dw age 41 lover of all things Disney!
We had PS for Chef Mickey's at 7:45 for breakfast-it was so nice to just walk right to the restaurant in a matter of minutes. Have I mentioned how much we are loving the Contemporary? The breakfast was great, with lots of characters stopping by our table. This breakfast buffet has great selections-I think I tried just about everything, although I will admit that I didn't think the Krispy Kreme donuts were as spectacular as I thought they were going to be ( maybe it was a bad doughnut day). With our bellies full, we waddled to the monorail to head to Epcot. We got there a little after opening-just a note -all parks we visited opened exactly at their posted opening time- walked over to Test Track to get fast passes, and then did Universe of Energy (DS # 2 wouldn't do this, so he and DH went to Ice Station Cool), and then Spaceship Earth. Call me corny, but I really love this ride. Did Test track (Whee!) then went into World Showcase. Maelstrom was a walk on, so we did that, went to the counter restaurant in Mexico for churros, and saw a mother duck with brand new ducklings near the seating area-so cute! DD and DS #2 wanted to go back to the hotel pool, so they went back with DH while DS #1 and I did some shopping in world Showcase. We loved the department store in Japan, and bought quite a few things in there. I wanted to see Honey I shrunk the Audience, so we did that, then one more round on Test Track-10 minute wait! Back to the Contemporary to swim for a while. We had PS that evening at Cape May Cafe, so after relaxing for a few hours we headed back to Epcot, and were seated right away. The service was top notch, but I'm sorry to say, the food was not. We have eaten here before, and the quality was just not that good this time. There were fewer selections, and there was no more bread pudding offered ( wah!) . We will pass this place up our next trip. It was starting to get dark, and people were starting to line up for the parade and Illuminations, but the kids wanted to do Test Track-again- so over we went. It was a walk on this time as well, but we missed the parade
. Went in to the bakery in Norway and picked up breakfast, then found a great spot to watch illuminations-we stood on the curb right underneath the Troll Topiary in Norway-we could see perfectly! Illuminations was wonderful-it seems to get better each time I see it. When Illuminations ended we let the crowds thin out, then strolled over to the monorail-no wait! Everyone fell asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillows (big surprise!) Tomorrow it's MGM........
