Magical Oct 4, 2014 Southern Caribbean

Just booked my outbound airfare! :cool1: I decided to come in on Thursday since the only option from Denver on Southwest got in at 9:50pm. This will give us a day to sight-see in San Juan. I'm going to wait for a better price on the return flights. Hope that pans out for me!

Hi! I'm so excited is my first Disney Cruise! Btw I just get on your page and add my info. How I know in what FE group I will be???

Hi! I'm from PR and planning to be in the cruise! If you guys need any help with info from the island just let me know. :)

MJGirl There's a Hotel in Old San Juan called El Convento is a boutique hotel super nice. Near everything ;)

Thanks! I will probably take you up on your offer since we plan to arrive 1t 10:00 p.m. on Oct 1, so we'll have two full days for sightseeing.

I booked our flight yesterday, so my next task is to nail down our lodging.

Do you know which port our cruise will depart from? I found possible lodging in a waterfront condo in OSJ Puntilla which overlooks the harbor, but I'm thinking that it overlooks the harbor where ships dock for day excursions instead of the harbor where ships depart when the cruise originates from SJ. Can you help?

Actually I do have a question for you - thank you for offering! How good or bad an idea is it to rent a car? Is it easy/safe to get around if we have never been? I'm considering doing an excursion the night we arrive but it would require an hour drive to the eastern part of the island... TIA! :goodvibes

From what I know, is the same port just different areas. Staying in Puntilla or around it will be just great. Is waking distance to most everything in Old San Juan even EL Morro :)

It's a good idea, but if you get a GPS is a better idea. If you're planning a night excursion go to FAJARDO. They have this awesome excursion in the bioluminescence bay only kayaks allowed and you can rent them around $25 for 2 people. If you will like more info let me know. Other tourist points are El Yunque and El Morro, but it depends where you planning to stay. Let me know so I can tell you more to go around. :bitelip:

That's exactly my plan - the bioluminescence one! :) Thank you! We went horseback riding through El Yunque last time, it was gorgeous.

Oh wow, that looks awesome. We're coming in late Thursday night, so maybe we can do that Friday evening. We'll have a 7-year old with us, so maybe we'll have to do the non-kayak ones.

Its been a while since I've been on the boards, time to catch up with the thread.

There is a bit of a change for me at least regarding this sailing.. As of now, I am cruising solo. :sad1::guilty:

Hi everyone! I'm sorry to say we are cancelling this cruise. We were able to get the 5 of us in a concierge, 2-bedroom suite on RCI one week later than the Magic sailing for almost $2000 less. Also, being 1 week later with basically the same itinerary, we may be able to do the Magic repo back to Port Canaveral if they offer a good rate. Please remove us from the FE. Hope you all have a wonderful cruise!

New Grandchild in Florida???? I need details!!

I will (sadly) be bowing out of this cruise  I won't be doing Argentina either (Dad has invited me to go with him to CHINA instead, in May).

I know I will still be able to see my pals, as they will be at WDW so that gives me a little joy.

I know you all will have an amazing time & know I'll be with you in spirit.

Our pre-cruise lodging is booked. Casa Castellana, a small bed and breakfast about 15 min taxi from the port. :goodvibes We have booked 3 of the 4 rooms they have. :dance3: So looking forward to it!!
