We woke up bright and early today for Epcots EMH morning, just grabbing doughnuts and bagels that wed bought at Walmart. I didnt eat anything because I knew I was going to ride M:S first thing and I didnt want to lose my breakfast. I asked Jonathon if he wanted me to stay behind with him and he growled at me from under the covers, so I took that as a big fat NO. There was nobody waiting for the bus, so I kept my fingers crossed that it was a good sign. Nope, Epcot was so crowded! We were one row back from rope drop, and when the rope dropped, we were all ready to book it to TT. We did pretty well keeping up with the crowd at first, but Rhiannon and I just couldnt keep up with everyone, so we ended up dropping way back in the crowd. All was well, though. Dennis grabbed FP for TT and we walked over to M:S to ride standby. The line was only 5 min. long at that point and the ride was awesome. Rhiannon was terrified and hated every minute of it, but I thought it was pretty great. I half expected to get sick from all the warnings, but didnt even get a twinge. Gary Sinise introduced it in the pre-show and I think hes all that and a bag of chips.
We wandered around for about 5-10 minutes until our return time for TT and we basically walked right on to it, bypassing a growing line of people. Rhiannon loved that ride! She was nervous waiting in line and I kept assuring her that it wasnt like a roller coaster or simulator ride and promised her that if she didnt like it, it would be over soon and shed never have to ride it again. Ha! If only! That was her favorite ride of all time and I think well never hear the end of it. That became my mantra with her in all the ride lines! If you dont like it, you never have to ride it again, I promise.
After that, we grabbed FP for HISTA and did Journey into the Imagination with Figment, which was a whole lot of fun. After the ride, Rhiannon got to do a little skit with Dr. Allbright in the Kodak Labs in which Rhiannon won a scientist of the year award. We did get pictures. There was hardly anyone in the labs, so we really got to enjoy ourselves playing with all the different things. After that, we were off for our FP on HISTA, which was pretty funny. Then Dennis grabbed FP for Soarin and we ate lunch at Electric Umbrella. All three of us totally ran out of steam after lunch, so we skipped Soarin and went back to the resort.
Honestly at this point, I dont know how were going to last! Between the heat, and me still being weak from the chicken pox, were not able to do nearly as much as want to do. We missed so much at Future World, and we even missed a few things at AK, but oh well we have 6 more park days. We dragged our butts back to the resort and I took a little nap while Dennis took Rhiannon to the pool. Poor Jonathons just been hanging out in the room non-stop. Ive offered to stay behind with him, but he just wants to stay here by himself. Hes actually happy about not having to go to the parks, but it just doesnt seem right leaving him behind like that without someone staying with him. He just wants to be left alone, though.
At 6, we had PS for Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary. After we ate, we decided to ride the monorail and try to ride up front, which we were able to do. We did a full circuit back to the Contemporary, getting our co-pilots licenses. The pilot wasnt very communicative AT. ALL. Its not that he was unfriendly or rude, but he barely said two words to us even when we tried to engage him in conversation. No pixie dust there! Its not that Im complaining or feel that every CM has to be perky, but I kind of felt like he was annoyed with us for riding up front. Oh well, at least Rhiannon didnt notice and she had a great time! Thats all that counts.
After that, we decided to get off so another family could get in front, so we got on another monorail that circles Epcot, which ended up being a big mistake. We were on the monorail what seemed like forever! We finally got off at TTC only to find out the monorail to MK was closed. Then we ran to catch the ferry and the lines there were miserable, so we rode the monorail yet again to Epcot, where we finally caught our bus back to AKL. It was a lot of fun, but we definitely had our share of the monorail for one trip. Hee!
Bed early tonight because tomorrow is CRT!
Stay tuned for Part 4
