Magical Grand Gathering Trip with Pics. Completed

WOW...I need to read trip reports more often :) This is really fun to get people's take on their trips...well I mean it's nice to see what everyone encounters when they go to WDW.

Seems like you all had a wonderful time and I love the pictures, especially of Chef Mickey :) He's my favorite. Well Chip and Dale are my favorites too. I LOVE Disney World---I've been six times and working on number seven this September.

Thank you SO very much for sharing your trip and pictures...this makes it even better and will pass the time until we go.

Somehow I missed the second part of your update:confused3 Anyway, I am here now!;) Great Update and WOO-HOO for dream fastpasses!! How cool and weird that they gave them away at the entrance to China? Glad to hear Kaylee got her passport finished!:thumbsup2 We have never seen the Japanese candy lady, we MUST do that this trip! Although my boys would probably break it fighting over it:rolleyes1 How sweet that K gave it to Thomas!:goodvibes Kaylee's face was soooooooo funny with the Beverly! It is evil but SO FUN to trick them isn't it!:rotfl:

Thanks Diane :) . I thought China was a strange place to win Dream Fp's too, but hey I'll take em ;) . Kaylee loved getting her passport stamps. Definately see Miyuki, she is really cool. I can't believe she drank the beverly :lmao: .

Loved your updates as usual :goodvibes We bought a passport for Trevon a couple of years ago and actually went from country to country and made masks and got the book stamped. That was fun, but it does take up your day.
I'm glad Kaylee got picked by Miyuki and how sweet was that to give it to her little bro :cutie:
I hope you made it to the attractions you wanted to after your ADR, and I hope Thomas was feeling better too!

Thanks earthfairies :goodvibes . The passport was time consuming but fun for her. We did get to a few attractions ;) .

Thanks so much for reading and :welcome: . Reading trip report gets addicting after a while :goodvibes but it does help pass the time until your next trip.

Well I can't wait to hear about your evening :goodvibes...and btw, did you notice the ticker? We're moving to Orlando next year!!!

OMG!! That is great news :yay: how exciting! I have to come check out your trippie. I have no idea which areas are good out there? If I like what I read/see then I might be looking at houses on our next trip.

Good Morning :) I don't have a trippie for the move ~ although I was thinking it would be really neat to do one, and I know a lot of people would love to read all about the different neighborhoods, etc. I don't know if we are allowed to do them?

As for the houses and neighborhoods, there are a few good ones and the rent prices are great! For $1300 a month you can get a brand new 2500sq 4bdrm/3ba pool and hot tub home on the lake inc. lawn and pool care in a gated community in Clermont ( a really nice, safe area) We're very excited about the move.

Anyway, I wonder if anyone ever does a moving to Orlando TR? I would LOVE to read about people's adventures and moves there!

Epcot & Coral Reef...

We drove our car to Epcot and parked very close to the front entrance. Thomas's fever was down so we figured we would ride a few rides before dinner.I completely forgot to get a picture of us in front of the Epcot ball. My other plan was to go to China and see the acrobats at 5:20. I even planned on going alone if the kids and DH wanted to get in a few rides at FW. I just really wanted to see them since I never have.

First up though was the Disney Visa meet & greet since it was just after 4PM and would be closing soon. Thomas was so happy to see Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy!

We still had a while before our dinner ADR so we used our FP's from afternoon and Dream FP's for Test Track. This is Thomas's second favorite after TSM of course. We didn't wait more than 10 minutes which was good. Thomas and Kaylee sat in front with me. They had so much fun. Of course he wanted to ride again after dinner.

image139.jpg

Tommy wanted to ride Mission Space so I told him to ahead and meet us after. So I took the kids over to Innoventions to see the recycling games and garbage truck and play for a bit.

DisneyOctober08536.jpg

The line for the game was too long so we skipped it. The kids wanted to try making paper instead. This was kind of silly but the kids liked it.

The finished product.

Tommy came back as we were finishing up. I checked my watch and it was 5:25 already  . I missed the acrobats. Tommy threw me off with SM and I forgot to remind him. The next show was 7:20 so Tom said just leave dinner quickly so I could head over to China. I was hoping too but knew Coral Reef is a long dinner. We still had 40 minutes so went to ride SE next. This is our first riding since the refurb and we loved it!!!

Kaylee and I are Scuba divers...

DisneyOctober08553.jpg

After SE it was nearly time for our ADR at Coral reef. This was my favorite last year. I was looking forward to it.

DisneyOctober08555.jpg

We checked in at the podium and were given the pager. I let Thomas hold it since he looked tired again and very grumpy. Kind of stinks because he asked about Coral Reef since last October. He remembered the divers and the tank and how much fun we had. After 10 minutes we were seated right next to the tank :cool1: .

When I sat down the waiter handed me and Tommy personalized menu's. Last year I had the special menu's and the diver. So this year Tom decided to surprise me with the same thing. Only a different message of course. I was very surprised. Turns out I had Debbie the Managers email address in my contacts so Tom made good use of it :) . I didn't take pics of the menu's but I could if you want to see them. There are tons of pics and a very sweet message :love2: . I was surprised and happy.

But our happiness was short lived because Thomas was tired and grumpy and could care less about the tank, sharks, or much else. He wanted to leave and was not hungry. He didn't feel warm but wasn''t acting like himself at all. We even had and adorable Sea turtle right next to our table and he just wasn't interested. It made our dinner less than magical. As long as he wasn't crying we just figured we would eat quick as possible. We just distracted Thomas as much as possible.

DisneyOctober08556.jpg

Our waiter was not Mr. Personality either. But we were able to get smoothies on the DDP. So We all ordered Pina Colada's. Kaylee had fun finding all the fish on her sheet.

DisneyOctober08563.jpg

That is about it for food pics because we were a bit stressed with a grumpy kid that we were keeeping busy so he didn't meltdown in CR. But the food was good but not excellent like last year. Tom And i had the NY strip and potatoes, not Au Gratin though. Kaylee didn't really like the kid options but she ordered pizza but ate most of my steak. Thomas refused to eat but drank his smoothie. I was watching for divers because I was sure Tom had arranged them too. Well I'm not dumb. I had Thomas watch for them while we ate. He was a little excited when he finally saw them in the tank. Here are the divers and the sign Tommy had them make for me.

DisneyOctober08566.jpg

DisneyOctober08567.jpg

That is not all, the diver read the sign and then got out his little magnetic plastic write on thing. He wrote "Kiss" on there and everyone having dinner in CR did the "ahhhh" and clapped for us. . It was a bit embarressing but I obliged. Kaylee was hysterically laughing at this point. It was very sweet! I'm sure Tom stole the word magical from me BTW.

Continued in next post

Great update! Sorry Thomas was getting grumpy , poor thing, he wasn't feeling good :(

I hope you got to catch the acrobats! What a sweet sign , that was really special for him to do that for you :cutie:

That sea turtle there looks cool! I love Coral Reef :)

Continued.....

Next we ordered Dessert. Make your own Sundae for Kaylee, Thomas didn't even want ice Cream. I guess he was full from the lollipop his sister gave him. Tom and I had the chocolate wave. I dreamed of this dessert for a while. I have to say I was dissapointed in it and so was Tom. It was no better than a dessert from Chili's IMO.

DisneyOctober08568.jpg

DisneyOctober08570.jpg

At this point there was no way i was going to see the acrobats :sad2: it was 7 PM and we just finishing dessert and had a grouchy boy with us. So I guess that is yet another thing on the list for next time. We quickly finished dessert and I took the kids to ride Nemo while Tom settled the bill.

DisneyOctober08554.jpg

We had a fun ride on meo then met Tommy in the Seas Pavillion. The kids wanted to gte a picture with Bruce.

DisneyOctober08571.jpg

We didn't even stay in the Seas to look around because I wanted to ride Soarin and the Land before the meltdown came. It came sooner than later though. We used our dream FP's and 2 of the ones from our DVC tour for the boys so we could ride Soarin. We waited about 15 minutes and when we were finally seated Thomas starts to whine  . Not loud but more like whining crying. He didn't want to take off his crocs and that set him off. he hasn't acted like this since he was two. So we just had him sit criss cross to keep his shoes from falling off. The CM working the ride was overly concerned about his little bit of whining. Give me a break he has been on the ride before and would be absolutely fine if you just start the ride already. It's not like he was crying and screaming and scared like so many kids when their parents make ride. I would never do that but if other parents do I don't concern myself with it unless it is disturbing everyone.
I told the CM he had ridden before and loved it but just was just a bit tired. So the ride finally started and Thomas loved it just like in March. He is just amazed by it.

After the ride Thomas was officially done for the day. When we walked by living with the land it was already closed. Outside it was pouring so bad you couldn't even see where you were going. We had to get the poncho's out. We stopped in the photo store to pick up our picture on the way out. Illuminations wouldn't be happening this trip for us but it fine because we needed to get back to the room early so Thomas could get more rest. he had his few hours of fun at least. Tom took Thomas to get the car and met us in front of the parking lot. We were all drenched to say the least. This was our rainiest trip to Disney yet. Just seems to rain so much in October. We drove back to CBR.

When we got back to the room there was a huge surprise waiting for the kids! The surprise wasn't from us but from the resort and Disney. The note said it was from Cinderella and Mickey though. The kids and us could not believe our eyes. They said it's just like Christmas and were on :cloud9: . This was like winning a dream for them. The CM's at the resort had all of this sent up because of Thomas being sick and having to go to the ER on vacation.

DisneyOctober08581.jpg

It was a Cindrella baby doll and a Mickey plush and coloring sets too. Also Cinderella rubber dolls for Kaylee and Disney figurines for Thomas and a card for each of them. I was just so shocked and moved they would do something so sweet for my kids!

There was a message on the phone and when I called it was the front desk making sure we got the surprise and to explain. I thought maybe since we called the front desk to find out about the ER that is how they knew :confused3 Thomas wasn't well. I thanked the CM again and told her how much that cheered up Thomas and Kaylee. How nice to include Kaylee in the surprise as well. I also sent and email to DIsney just to say thank you and how nice that was to make the kids trip special. this is just another reason to love Disney. They really do go all out for the families on vacation. No where else would do something like this just because one of your children is sick. Here is Thomas with his new Mickey Mouse.

DisneyOctober08580.jpg

We spent the rest of the night resting in the room and the kids played with their new toys. It was along day for us all and we really needed this downtime. I had scheduled a late breakfast for the morning. But we weren't sure if all of us were going yet or not, depending how on how Thomas was feeling.

Up next: 1900 Park Fare & MNSSHP

Thanks, sorry there was not more pics.

Great update. That is so sweet that they thought of the kids like that. Sometimes Disney will surprise you like that. In 2006 DS got a hair cut and they put that gel in his hair. It turned his hair BLUE! They gave us special shampoo and nothing worked. On out last MK day while we were having dinner at the Crystal Palace they came in with bags of stuff for the kids. DS got the most but they hooked up DD and the baby too. His hair stayed light blue for a couple of more months 'til it grew out enough for a decent hair cut. Plus they gave us all the money back from the boys hair cuts...all three of them got one that day. I am so ready to go!

Wow Nichole! I'm so impressed with Disney AND Tommy! :lmao: He did good! I love the "kiss" element too - how sweet! He banked a whole lot of bonus points for that I'm guessing! :thumbsup2

That is an amazing surprise that they left for the kids! How sweet and thoughtful! They really do make you feel special, don't they? It's like they know we are suckers for the magic and just lay it on thick to keep us coming back! :rotfl2: Hey - it works!

Sorry you didn't get to see the acrobats this time. PUt it on the list for next time! :goodvibes

You are right it was awesome that they thought of Kaylee too!:goodvibes

Nichole - great update!:thumbsup2

Sorry things didn't work out entirely with Thomas, although from the sounds of the rain, you probably would not have wanted to stay in the Park anyway!

What a wonderful thing CBR did for the kids! They must have been so happy!

And hats off to Tom for coming up with that great surprise at CR. I would LOVE to see your personalize menu!

Can't wait to hear about Park Fare and MNSSHP.:)

That's why I love Disney so much ~ it's so magical :wizard: That is so special what they sent up for the kids ~ it really was like christmas! The picture of Thomas with his special little mickey is so adorable :cutie:

Oh my gosh! That was so wonderful of Disney to do that! I'm crying! They really do know what it takes to make sure everyone has a great time!

Sorry Thomas still wasn't feeling too great. Hopefully a night of good rest with a new Mickey Doll will help him for tomorrow with MNSSHP!!

BTW - i finally got my contract for the VR!!! :cool1: And we also finally decided on Ft Wilderness Cabins! I just couldn't pass up the oppurtunity to take advantage of B4G3 if they offer it next fall.

OMG! Well your DS has really light hair but I can't believe the gel left it blue  . At least Disney made up for it though. I'm ready to go back already too.

That diver had to know how embarressing that was  . In my younger days it wouldn't bother me, guess I'm getting old. It was a night full of surprises. Acrobats are on the must do list now.

Wow, that is so cool the kids got those gifts!

Yes it was very sweet to say the least.

Thanks Diane. Acrobats on our my list for next time. yes that was very sweet of Tom. I'm sure the presents from Mickey made Thomas feel a
little better. It wasn't fun having a sick grumpy kid at Disney. We still have no idea what was wrong and why he even had a fever for 2 days.

Nichole - great update!:thumbsup2

I will take a picture of the menu and post it tomorrow. We couln't stay in Epcot anyway because Thomas needed to rest some more and so did the rest of us. It was downpour though so not real loss there. CBR went above & beyond for the kids :) .

Disney did everything possible to help make our trip a little better. MNSSHP was kind of a wash out.
:yay: For the contract and booking Ft. Wilderness. my brother and his family just loved it there. they would definately want to stay there again. I can't wait to go back to Disney. Thomas told me after Disney on Ice that he can't wait unitl next year and wants to go back tomorrow :rolleyes1 .
