Magical Grand Gathering Trip with Pics. Completed

Teppan Edo is our new favorite! I like Sci FI for lunch moreso than Dinner. Nothing about Ca Grill entices me. But I've never been. SOA was fun but I don't think we'll do it again 'til the kids are older. Kids LOVE the BYBBQ and it's all the ice cream you can eat. I love myself a cold strawberry Minnie bar!

Well it sounds like Hoop Dee Doo is the winner :goodvibes for sure! I would be scared too if my seats were front & center  . I don't want to sing old Mcdonald  . the only thing about Spirit of Aloha is the fire twirler. thomas loves to watch them do the torch lighting when we are at Poly. He even pretends to be at home with out the fire of course! it's hilarious. I'm thinking of not booking Le Cellier and going to Teppan Edo. It looks like so much fun but not sure if Thomas will eat anything there, he is so picky. The monorail plates are cute though :) .

Oh I'll be so jealous if you go. We really want to see it again but we want to take Mum, Dad and Sophie to see it as we know they will love it. So were waiting till we go with them again. TBH even though we were right at the front they never picked on us. One of the girls made a funny comment to Nick but that was it. The fire twirler at SOA was very good, but most of the rest is just dances and some singing. And that is so cute of Thomas, just make sure you keep any matches out of reach before he tries to go for the real thing .

Were planning on going to Teppan Edo and are really excited about it. From what I can see they do chicken and steak and you could probably get it without sauce. And the monorail plates are so cute, I want one :goodvibes

Not sure if it is because it was Christmas time, but friends of ours went to Teppan Edo for dinner and said that the kids meals weren't served in the monorail dishes:confused3 I vote for Hoop Dee Doo too, I couldn't imagine sitting at SOA outside with the eat:eek:

I'm pretty sure we will add Hopp Dee Doo to the list. That is my top choice for dinner show. Too bad about the monorail dishes. Thomas wouldn't eat anything there as he is not a meat eater at all. Well except for chicken nuggets. He eats lots of pizza, pasta and some fruits & veggies. Thomas asked about CBR yesterday :sad2: and cried when I said we were trying this nice new resort with a really nice pool :rolleyes1 . He is so sad we are not going to CBR. if I hadn't already booked then I would switch :headache: .

Not sure if we will eat at Sci Fi for lunch or dinner. Whatever one works better with our schedule I guess. Teppan Edo looks really good! I was looking at your food pics from your last trip yesterday. I loved california grill the last 2 times we ate there, it was excellent! Maybe well just save SOA until they are older :goodvibes . What days do they do BYBBQ?? For some reason I'm thining only Saturday.

If we do book a dinner show then we are going with HDD :goodvibes . Why not just go to HDD this trip then again with your family too? SOA sounds just okay. But the fire twirler is the best. Thomas calls him "aloha man" :lmao: . he has watched the torch lighting ceremony at Poly too many times. Luckily he is afraid of fire, so he just does the dancing and pretends to light the tiki torches. Teppan Edo looks great! I tried to get a ressie there in October but they were all booked for dinner when I called 2 months prior to our trip.

We thought about doing it again but thought it may be a bit too much doing it again so soon and so many times. I know it will be a few years until we go with Mum again so it will give us time to appreciate seeing it again. Plus we already have too many new places we want to try and not enough time or credits.

Hopefully you should easily get a reservation for Teppan Edo since no one could have booked yet. Its one of the new restaurants I am most looking forward to trying. I am so excited about being on the dining plan, it is going to be great. And I am so looking forward to trying lots of new restaurants too.

Hmmm, I don't know what days they do it. It all depends on the season. I think they did it like every day when I went. Teppan Edo is sooooooooooooo good. I went again this time. Even better this time around! :thumbsup2 No more Le Cellier for my Epcot steak night! That's for sure. I LOVE the planning part, don't you?

I love the planning too :lovestruc. Oh and nice to hear as I was really looking forward to trying here. But I am not giving up my Le Cellier steak either so we had to add both .

Hey Nicole, how are you? I have been away for a few days, I took Nick away for his birthday, and have come back to see everything has gone quiet here. Just checking in to see if everythings ok and if you have any new plans?

Just catching up Nicole!!

So you picked Saratoga Springs?? That seems like a very pretty resort!! And you will LOVE HDDR!! Even my DH likes it and he hates everything!! :rotfl: We caught the last weekend fo Flower & Garden when we went last year and it was jsut beautiful at Epcot! All the bright beautiful flowers and the amazing topiary's!

Hi Ariel,
I PMed you yesterday but just read your post today. I was off the computer for quite a few days due to DSL problems. It has been kind of quite on the DIS :). No new plans really, except we are flying in on May 16th but won't arrive until 9PM. We are going to take the last flight out so DH doesn't miss a full day at work. Not sure if we will check into Saratoga on a cash reservation or just spend the night at another resort.

Hi there :). I'm looking forward to Flower & Garden festival at Epcot. i kind of settled for SSR. Though the rooms there look really nice, it's just not as themed as some of my favorite resorts. Only Old key West and Saratoga were available for my dates. Dreaming of Poly or Beach Club but it's not in the budget this soon. If we waited until october then we would have kept our reservation for WL courtyard view. I can't wait to go. We are planning on going to HDDR on our first night.

Just wanted to let my DIS friends know that I'm going to start a pretrip report within and I'll post the link when I do. I could use some help with the planning. Your opinions help so much.:) I need to come up with a title for my next trip report.

Glad to have you back

Hum, its always a pain to have to change resorts but then if your getting there late then is it worth the cost? Glad you managed to sort it though so Tom could get the time off.

Well since we won't get to the Disney until close to 10 PM I figured why pay $300 for Saratoga. If I were able to rent the extra points from the nice person I'm renting from it would be $260 + 100 for the dining plan that we don't really need the extra day. So maybe we will stay at a value or Moderate depends on price and what discounts come out. i would love to book Saratoga and get settled in though so hoping I can get a good deal. I'm happy we were able to sort it out too ;).

Have you ever stayed at Pop Century or All Star Movies before? And if you did get another night at SSR, would you be guaranteed the same room throughout?

That is what I'm hoping that i would not have to switch rooms. they would tell me at check in I guess. I have never been to All stars but we did stay at Pop for a few nights last March for Kaylee's Birthday. It was a fun place but the rooms were so small and it was just not as a relaxing atmosphere like the deluxe and moderate resorts. But it was nice and clean and fine for short stays.

When we went to DLP we went for 4 nights but it was done on 2 reservations, 2 nights each. Although they were both for the same type of accommodation at the same resort in the same name, they told us they could not guarantee we would have the same room and may have to check out and back in again. Luckily we didn't but it seemed crazy that they would consider this, it made no sense at all.

Hey Nichole! You might be able to stay at POFQ or POR then you would be close to SSR! I hope you start your new PTR soon!

2006, guess she is too old for this now :sad2:

I'm just getting started on this trip report. I remember you from reading the BBB FAQ before our last trip in 9/07.
