Magical Gatherings?

We had a "Magical Gathering" with 16 family members this year in August. We did the "Magical Gatherings Fireworks Voyage" and it was absolutely the best thing we did all week! You really can't get a better view of "Wishes" and our "pirate" captain was so much fun! Everyone from my dad (age 68) to my dd (age 4) loved it and had a great time. I would highly reccommend it!

Since you have been on the magical gathering's cruise I hope you can answer this question.

How many people can fit on the magical gatherings wishes cruise? Our family has 14 going in May. The regular wishes/illuminations pantoon boat holds 10 adults or 12 total. I am assuming the magical gatherings boat is larger. Did your 16 folks fill the boat? How much time did it take for the voyage? I am saying from the time everyone gathered until everyone was leaving. Can you tell me about the cookies and desert.

I am on the fence of trying to get a pantoon boat myself or just calling the magical gatherings number. The magical gatherings cruise would double our cost. Is it really worth it?

I htought the WISHES cruise was spectacular (though the GG desk is not well organized, 3 hours on the phone to book this). The boat holds about 60 people.

It is a very different experience than the private boat. Having done both I would pick GG hands down if you can deal with them.

It was about 45 minutes on the dock with food and than Smee and Captain Hook arrived for photos. The "pirate captains" are wonderful, they play trivia games, sing happy birthday, etc. on the way over, on the way back all the children gather for the reading of Peter Pan. Peter Pan along with Tink in her latern meet you after for photos.

All in all a great night.

PS they do provide blankets on the boat, it is much colder out on the water than you would think.

I thought it was well worth the cost! The whole thing was so entertaining from start to finish, there was no "dead time" while cruising out to our spot as our "pirate" told jokes, sang songs etc. We had 3 other groups on the boat with ours, one of them had the grandparents celebrating their 50th Anniversary. Our "pirate" sang "Kiss the Girl" and everytime he sang the chorus they had to kiss. It was so much fun, and not a dry eye on the boat! During the dessert Capt. Hook and Mr. Smee posed for several pictures for us and hung around until we boarded the boat. We didn't eat any of the dessert as we had just finished at Chef Mickey's right before, but my sister and her family did, and they looked delicious! Soft drinks, coffee, hot chocolate, brownies, cookies, that kind of thing is what I saw. I agree with InstImpress that the GG people were not very organized (it took me a while to get our reservations sorted out) but I think they may have taken care of some of that by now. For example, when we booked ours, you could only book it 90 days out. Now you can book it when you make your resort reservations. That should make things much easier. I would do this again in an instant. Everyone in our group agreed that it was one of the biggest highlights of our trip.
