We will be traveling with a large group to celebrate IL’s 50th anniversary, April 2005. We are a group of 11, 8 adults (1 confined to wheel chair), 2 children (ages 8 & 12) and one toddler (age 2). We are booked for 5 days at WDW followed by the 3-Day Disney Cruise. Most of us (7) will be staying at OKW and rest (4) are staying at PC. Has anyone done any of the special events offered for Magical Gatherings? Do you know if it will continue to be offered in 2005?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Our group did the fireworks journey and it was amazing. Check out the theme park board though, you will see my posts as well as many others about how disorgazined MG is. Being DVC and MG is also a pain.

If you want one of these events though, be prepared to spend hours booking and confirming.

We are doing a GG in October. It is kinda of a pain... one of the advantages of being DVC is for the intial phone call (which can take forever... everyone's full name, address, age, resort, etc) is thru MS which is toll free. They then call MG and set things up, give you a number, etc....

BUT so far with everything we have booked, we have once again had to give everyones name, resort, age, etc, making all phone calls (non toll free) long, and at peak times (7 am rush dont cha know) It took 37 minutes to book the WISHES cruise for our party of 12 as appose to the 6 minutes it tool to book the IllmiNations cruise for the same party.

I hear it is worth it.... I hope they fix it soon... I will let ya know!

We got our ressies first, then called the MG folks and explained what we'd done. We got a Magical Gathering number, and from then on, whenever we called (not MS), they had the information we needed. Once I got a CM that seemed bewildered, but most of the time, it was always pleasant and hassle free.

The two things we did through MG was the HHDR, and that was painless. And, we did the International Dinner and Illuminations package (can't remember its exact name.) We had an absolute blast ... got to sample a lot of food from different countries, and having a special viewing area for Illuminations (with a decadent dessert buffet) was way fun. It's hardly a good value, but for a one-time event, it was just fine.
