Hello,
I am planning a trip in Fall '07 for my family (me, DH, DS5, DS3), my parents, and my brother and his family. Is it any benefit for me to have a Magical Gathering?? What IS a Magical Gathering?? (all I can come up with from the info I have is that there are a few dinner/show packages for groups of 8+) Am I missing anything? Do they accommodate rooms near each other in resorts?
Thanks

We are doing our first Magical Gathering this fall. They offer 4 MG exclusive things that I know of, a planning service, and they do try to help with the room request. We didn't take advantage of much, but when we were getting our ADRs(16 of us) we had a magical gathering # for our group and it made making ADRs much simpler.

We origionally had planned a magical gathering (then SIL family dropped out and we were 1 short to qualify as a 1 year old doesn't) and were told that if your group is staying at the same resort they can try to accommodate your request by room proximity to one another. They also offer the 4 "gathering" experiences. The Safari dinner, Wishes cruise, Illuminations dessert, and something else. We didn't think that it was worth the extra expense so we didn't plan for any of it.

In our opinion Magical Gatherings wasn't all that different than booking your trip separately. Although the nice thing was that we had a separate number to call to make changes to our reservations as well as dining plans. Plus I was able to monitor each persons reservation. Aside from that I didn't see anything different from traditional bookings, and anyone can download the Magical Gatherings planner from disneyworld.com
