Hello All- I am being an obsessive planner (I know I am in good company here :rotfl2: ) For those of you that have done this Grand Gathering extra where and at what time do you partake in this???? I am trying to figure out where and best time for dinner. Oh yeah, by the way we are going in December.

Thanks much!

We haven't done it yet but are going to in Aug. It depends on what time the fireworks are on the night you are going. Since we're going on Sat night, the fireworks aren't until 10:00. The CM told us to be at the CR for about 8:45. We re planning for 8:30 though just to be safe.

Find out when the fireworks will be, then plan to be at CR 1 1/2 hrs before, then plan dinner according to that. Maybe plan to have dinner at CR to cut down on travel time.

We went in December and had dinner at CM prior. Unfortunately, we were all stuffed with dinner and dessert to enjoy any of the dessert reception, but had a great time anyway. Enjoy!!!

Ok, I'm confused now. We are doing the cruise on Sunday, August 14th. The fireworks are scheduled for 9pm. I called twice, and spoke to 2 differents CM's to make sure I had the info correct. Both of them told me to be at the CR at 8:45, but that I should really try and be there by 8:30. I thought this was strange since the fireworks are supposed to start 15 min later? In my plans I have us ready to do it at 7:30. I figured I'd check with the front desk when I arrived and get it all straightened out.

We decided to eat at Chef Mickey's before the gathering and we timed it so we could go immediately to the dock after dinner.

The deserts at Chef Mickey's were great (and unlimited) so we were pretty full. However, this worked out great because we spent more time with the characters instead of trying to grab the food.

On another note, if the weather is threatening, the pre-boat part of the gathering may be held indoors to keep the characters from getting wet. So, if there is nobody at the dock, be sure to check inside the CR on the convention level.

I've been wondering about this too. We're doing the Voyage Sept 26th. The fireworks are scheduled at 8 pm so far. I didn't make an ADR for that night either because I don't know what time! I called grand gatherings and the schedules weren't out yet for it. We are having lunch at 1:05 in the Castle, this should fill us for a while and then we'll grab a sandwich or someting so we have room for dessert. :goodvibes
