:sad2: I beleive in being real, that is what thebanker is doing, the reason for disboards is for your comments & suggestions, there was a long line & I did have to wait a long while & my kids were already tired from the flight and have to go to the bottom level, also who is responsible for lost lugagge, I also took my time just to see how my bags were handle & what I say was not what I expected, the girl that at that time was doing the luggage was throwing the bags and I wonder who will walk away with anybody's luggage...But just like anything new we will see. I beleive I'am better off just having a transportation transport me & my family or take a cab. My family & I are here to enjoy our vacation & go as smooth as possible, so I will stick with a private transportation or a cab..... :mickeybar..There is always a first, and I went for the free ride, I will go back in a private vehicle..... :moped:

Thanks for the headsup on the new ME thing. I hate to fly in the first place, second I dread losing my luggage, third if someone breaks my stuff because they were careless, that will extremely upset me. Now I will think twice about using ME or not. I do have some other questions though, do the buses come pretty regularly or do you have to wait awhile if one is just leaving? How long does it take from the time you leave the airport until you get to the hotel? Do you have to wait a long time at the hotel to get your bags? Did you hear of anyone while you were there losing their luggage? Sorry so many questions, I just like to know all angles of everything before I do it.

A few thoughts...

Where are these people coming from? This is the second new poster who only posted to talk about how bad ME was.

Also, as far as luggage being thrown. Um... if you think the airlines were handling it with kid gloves back there you were wrong. By the time the Disney guys got it, it had already been thrown at least twice and probably harder. One of the reasons for the reduced weight limits on luggage is that the baggage handlers got injured throwning heavy luggage. If they had been gently lifting from the knees then they would probably have not been injured.

a CM at ME told me last nite that the busses run every 15 minutes-- but that doesn't mean much if we don't know how long you must queue up for one. i would also like to know the 'door-to-door' times- from arrival at MCO to your resort.

anyone?

Members that just join to bash ME, after it only operating for 1 day, I believe have other motives. I smell troll...and my rule has always been "don't feed the trolls"

I am waiting a few weeks for lots more reports of people who really expereinced ME before I make my judgement.

I have let Disney handle my lugguge on two land and sea cruises I took. I checked in my luggage at my home airport and didn't have to deal with it again til I got back to my home airport at the end of my trip. Everything turned out great. I got all my luggage both times in the right resort, right room, you get the picture. Disney has experience in this and I will use this service again for my land only trip in November. As the previous poster said the airlines throws the luggage around all the time.

Answer to your question, yes I'am a new post member because I did not need to join until now..I did take advantage of the free shuttle, just like everyone I thought this was the way to go, but you know what I missed out on the free stop that a lot of this transportaion places offer, and know it will cost me more than a roundtrip because the food is more expensive, and when you have kids you are in a limited budget...

it depends what hotel, it goes by which one is first drop off and the last, my hotel was the last drop off, so there where 3 drop off before my hotel, so it took 1 hour & 15 minutes, also it took 2 hours from the time we stood in line to the time that we left the airport....

you were at the airport TWO HOURS before boarding a bus?? did i understand that correctly??

First I don't know why everyone is getting so upset, seems as if no matter what is talked about there is a flamer. Yes it was the first day, yes there are kinks to be ironed out. DisneyGirl was just giving us HER experience. One thing EVERYONE has to understand is there will be good experiences and bad experiences and some people on this board take every bad experience and take them seriously personal. I love disney just like the rest, but chill out. Maybe some need to remember something they learned before kindergarten and if you aren't going to say something nice, don't say it at all. Sorry if I am offending people, but come on, take a chill pill.

Now off my soapbox, I wasn't meaning anything personal on Disney having bad luggage tactics. I switched from ASMo to Contemp. in February and Disney got my bags from my room at ASMo and moved them to Contemp. and had them in my room, they also held onto my luggage while we were in the park after checkout the last day with no problems. So, I'm not saying their handling of luggage is bad, I was just asking more about her experience.

Again, sorry if I offended anyone.

Were literally in line for 2 hours waiting for a bus???Are you counting the time you wondering around the baggage are?? About what time did you line up for the bus.

You're the only poster to have a 2 hour wait. I always figured it would take 45 minutes to 1.5 hours to get from the airport to your resort so your 1 hour and 15 minutes experience sounds about right.

I'll agree some people prefer, and are willing to pay for, a private towncar service.

I'm all for hearing the good, the bad, and the ugly. What is VERY bothersome, is that there are 3 BRAND NEW posters, all bashing something that has been in existance all of 24 hours, and tending towards the hyperbole in their description. Constructive criticism is great. Bashing a new service because it may or may not be taking customers away from their business. That's what I have a problem with. And I don't think anyone has flamed so to speak, just called some folks on some pretty unbelievable accusations. That's all.

What hotel are you staying at, and what was the route that ya'll took? I know someone posted earlier about what the Zones were going to be, but I forget.

Gee - it is not really FREE when you are paying for your travel service.

$0 DME
$100 r/t shuttle w/a stop at a store.

Sounds more like a matter of preference, which is not really about the $$$

We have used the TC services about 4 times in the past, and Mears once. So far, we have not done a grocery stop for various reasons...once ours, twice the TC serives told us not this time! So, we are using DME this time, in 43 days, but we are using wegoshop.com for our groceries. It will be a $15 shopping fee...that sure does beat a fee of $100 plus tips for a towncar. When we have used the TC, the fastest time to WDW was when we did carry-on only. And at that it still took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to get from MCO to the AllStars.

Nope, I'm still feeling good about DME...yes, there are kinks to work out. Everyone knew there would be. If it takes me 2 hrs. to get to my resort, so be it..free is free. To save that $125 I will wait a bit to get to my resort. I would think that that would make sense to a family on a budget. And when you add either netgrocer.com or wegoshop.com...well, even more savings.

Just wondering..... Why did disneygirl46 post this exact post on a SOG thread???
And why would you sign up TODAY while at WDW just to tell all of us you did not like ME?

I was thinking the exact same thing. Why on earth would someone take time out of their disney vacation to sign up and post about ME? I know some posters who have been around for awhile will check in with a crowd report, but that's about it. We leave next Tuesday :cool1: and I'm very anxious to hear first hand reports on ME, but I don't like the fact that some of these may not be factual. I appreciate all reports, but only if they actually happened.

Also agree the OP does not exactly "ring true"...when other posters known to this board had a satisfactory experience...and a marginally literate new poster signs on for their first time the AM after arriving at WDW to report ONLY on ME...(now I really like you guys, but if anyone thinks I am hopping up on my first AM of a WDW vacation to post here much less on a totally new BB about my ride from the airport...time for a reality check) never mentioning any details like what hotel, etc.

I smell a rat...and I would bet my derby money on the fact that we don't hear from the OP again!!

Just in case he/she surfaces again I am going to ask exactly where she "Hung around" to watch her luggage get flung about?? If she/he had the ME tags the luggage never gets onto the baggage carousel....and if they were watching it get pulled from the plane it wasn't Disney doing it....so that one also sounds a little fishy to me... not to mention the 2 hour wait for a bus...naughty, naughty!!
