We have just recieved our tickets today, but I am a bit confused as it dosn't have our flight info on the luggage tabs and I know I submitted it. The questions I have are:
Can we still put our luggage up for collection?
Do we collect it and take it to the coach ourselves?
If so, do we still use the tags?
Will the coach take the luggage from us?
How many Brits will there be on the coach?

:confused3
Thanks
Debbie

when we did ME we collected our own luggage and took it to the coach

hth :)

Hi, I think the tags just have your name and resort your staying at. mine don't have my flight details on ether.

This is how I have understood how it works.

If you want to take your own bags to the bus you don't put on the yellow tags and collect your luggage as usually and take it to the bus, if you take your own bags you are need to tip the driver.

If you want Disney to collect your luggage you put the tags on the bags, I think you still need to collect your luggage once before you go through immigration and Disney collect it at the next luggage collection point. If Disney collect your bags you don't need to tip the bus driver.

Hi, that is not how I understand it, I thought any WDW guest can register to use the luggage transfer from MCO - WDW, however only guest flying with certain US Airlines can have there luggage transferred from WDW- to the Flights by checking in to there flight at WDW. Other guests take there bags on the bus with them.

so guests on international flights can only have the luggage transferred on the outbound trip. I have read that people who have flown with virgin have had there luggage transferred to the resort.

For qualifying US internal flights, bags are automatically transfered to WDW direct from baggage unload.

This facility is not available to international flights.

Yes they are, and it is available to international flights. What you do is collect your luggage from the first carosel. Go through customs put your yellow tags on them. Put them on the second belt and then disney will collect from the second carosel. That is how it went when I used the DME last september. As for the trip back I did the dtd check in so only had hand luggage anyway.

What I meant was that for internal US flights the bags are collected automatically and taken to your resort without you having to touch them. It's only due to the 'double bagging' arrangement that means you still need to collect your bags from the first baggage reclaim.

I will still collect my bags myself regardless now. Last time we received out bags at midnight. This was late for us. All we wanted to do was go to sleep. We had to wait for the luggage to arrive so we could organise the next days clothes and to wait till the morning for a shower.

Going to Disney you may or may not have to clear or reclear customs in Orlando.

If you do have to clear or reclear customs in Orlando, you ...

1. Get your luggage from the right side(?) conveyor belt at the customs station.
2. Clear customs.
3. Choice of:
3A. Take the luggage with you, all the way to the Magical Express bus.
3A1 Sometimes the agent denies you this choice.
3B. Put the luggage on the left(?) conveyor belt, then
3B1 Yellow tagged luggage will be delivered to your resort room.
3B2 Non-yellow tagged luggage will be delivered to the main carousels
3B2a You may claim the non-yellow tagged luggage and go to the ME bus.
3B2b You may go directly to the ME area and they will make resort delivery arrangements

If you do not have to stop at customs in Orlando, then the airline starts the process sight unseen and you start by choosing 3B2a or 3B2b.

Going home, all international travelers must clear or preclear customs in Orlando and therefore must manage their luggage that day and bring it to the ME bus.

>>> How many British ...
Guests are commingled on the ME buses regardless of which flight they got off of (or how they got to Orlando Int'l Airport).

>>> Will the coach take ...
Most luggage is put under the passenger cabin, for which you tip the driver when you get to Disney. Buses have small racks above the seats, no sturdy bins.

Thanks for all the replies, We will probably collect our luggage and take it to the coach, I don't want to wait till 12 for our bags to arrive.
I'm not bothered about tipping (that becomes the norm after a 9 hour flight :rolleyes1)

The reason I asked about brits on the coach was to see if we were waiting for loads of flights from all destinations to arrive. We land approx 3pm (virgin 027) and was wondering what time it would take to get to our resort?

We were on the Virgin 027 which arrived about 3pm this June, we got the ME and only waited about 20 mins for the bus to take us to our hotel. We didn't take our luggage on the coach with us we left it to Disney to take to our hote. We checked in and went for something to eat at DTD by the time we got back it was in our room. Brilliant service can't wait to use it again next year.
