We are a party of 15 (4 families) and we are staying in 2 2BR's at OKW. Our arrival day and departure day were booked on cash so both rooms have the same reservation number. The 5 nights in between were booked on points and each room has it's own number. That's 3 "travel plan" numbers total, but they are all noted as "travelling with" and "continuing reservations".

Our DME packet(s) came this past week. Inside one of them was 12 vouchers and 12 luggage tags. The other one contained 4 vouchers and 4 luggage tags. Yes, you counted correctly, we have 16 vouchers and tags for 15 people. Somehow, I got 2 of them in my name.

I have 2 questions:

1) When we check in to DME and they ask us how many bags we checked, what do we tell them? Is it the TOTAL number checked (since it is all supposed to be one reservation) or is it how many were checked BY EACH INDIVIDUAL? Or, is it how many PER ROOM?:confused3

2) When the luggage is delivered, will they know which bags go into which rooms, based on the tags and occupants? We're probably only checking 6-8 bags total, but we would like them to end up in the right rooms. We're hoping to be close together so that moving them shouldn't be a problem, but it's not guaranteed.

We're flying AirTran and hoping to get at least 8 people upgraded to business-class at check in. Those 8 people will each get 2 checked bags free so any checked baggage we have will be in their names.

Does my question make sense? We've never used DME with multiple rooms/reservations before and I just want to make sure that I give the newbies proper instructions;).

If you are all traveling as a group, they just want to know the number of checked bags for the group. It's not a problem to have an extra tag and I wouldn't even use the extra tag for anything. If you are arriving on different flights at different times, then each group will ride DME separately and they will want to know the number of bags for each group.

The tags are coded with the corresponding reservation and will be delivered to the villa associated with that reservation. I think you can tell which room you will be associated with by the other tags you have received so just use the tag in your name that has the same ID as others in your villa.

Regardless, DME is pretty efficient and you shouldn't have any problems.

Enjoy! :)

Thanks, Doc:)

We are all arriving on the same flight. I'm not sure how to tell how the tags are "coded", but it sounds like we just need to tell them the TOTAL number of checked bags for all 15 of us. That was the information I needed:thumbsup2.
