Magical Express route to AK

Hi everyone! Could anyone tell me what other resorts would be on the same Magical Express route as Animal Kingdom? I have a friend who would like to surprise someone by staying at AK. She would like to be able to board ME, pretending to go to another resort, and maintain the surprise that much longer. Thank you!

We stayed at CBR this past February and it shared the ME bus with AKL.

When we were there about a month ago the bus stopped at POP and also at Caribean Beach Resort. No idea if that is the same route every day or not.

Really fun idea, but the Magical Express vouchers and luggage tags have your resort printed on them. I don't see how she'd be able to maintain the surprise, unless she tags the bags out of sight of the person she's surprising, and never lets them handle the vouchers.

The bus routes are not always the same, so there is really no way to do it. You can guess that the resorts in the same area (the all-stars and CSR) would be on the same bus, but it isn't always true. It would be a bummer to be telling that person "Yeah, I'm staying at Coronado Springs, so at least we can ride the bus together" and have CSR end up not sharing the route that day.

The routes often change, so there is no way to make this idea work. Sorry.

Thanks everyone! I figured the routes probably changed. I don't think she had thought about the luggage tags. I will pass on the info and then she can decide how best to go about maintaining the AKL surprise status!

Would they be able to stand in a line that wasn't going to AKL because the CM will look at the voucher and put in the appropriate line? AND let's say they do get into a different line, let's say POP. They get on the bus and the bus fills up before they are able to let any AKL riders on. Now what? How would they get to AKL?

As magicaldisney said, you are queued into resort-specific lines to wait for ME at the airport - I think they'd see that they were in the AKL line.

My last 2 trips to AKL we stopped at CBR and Pop first.

About the routes changing...if you look through this thread, there is a recurring theme (POP, CBR, AKL). So, maybe they don't change. In 2009 we stayed at Pop and this was the same as well...then this year...same thing...

I've stayed at the All Stars, and sometimes we have shared with AKL as well.

Hi all,

Thank you for the replies, and thank you Beth for posting for me. My husband knows I frequent the boards, and while I don't think he would look, you never know!!!!! I have a "dummy name" now so I will give you all a little more info.

I have thought about luggage, we hope to do carry on only during this trip, so we won't need the tags. As far as the vouchers, I handle them, I am a "little" obsessive....

I have so far managed to play the stupid card, and not tell him where we are staying, by saying I don't know.

I would NEVER get in the wrong line to try and keep a secret, so I don't worry that I will miss the buss.

Maybe I could tell him we are staying at Pop, if that is the shared line that seems to be common, and let the CM who checks the voucher tell him with the "going to AKL?" that they always ask as they check them.... That might be a fun way for him to find out!!!
