If this has been asked before I am sorry. We are flying into MCO and using DME to resort. after five nights, we are switching to another Disney resort, not flying home. Can I reserve a trip back to MCO to rent a car on DME as we will need a car for rest of trip? Than when our trip is over, we will return rental car to MCO and will not need DME at this time. Would this be allowed even though I would not be on a scheduled flight for that day? Thank you

Yes, every WDW Resort guest gets a r/t on DME doesn't matter what you do when you get to MCO or how you got there. As long as you are a resort guest when you want to use DME and make an advance reservation you can use the service.

Just let the DME CM know your plans and make the reservation. If the CM has trouble you can also pick a flight that leaves around the time you want to arrive at the airport and book DME that way.

To answer your question directly, yes you can do that even though you aren't actually flying out the day you want to go to the airport. They will ask for an airline/flight number so that they can schedule your bus for 3 hours before. Rather than confuse the poor reservation agents, just pick a random flight that will get you to the airport at the time you want to go.

But, do you really need to go back to the airport to rent a car? There are lots of car rental places on Disney property. Why not rent from there and save yourself the trip to/from the airport.

Thank you for the reply's, the reason for the wierd combination is our last three days will be at Portofino Bay and we will still need to get back to MCO. We will can use the car to get from our BWV to WL and then to PBH and then back to MCO. I think this will work out the best for us. Thanks again

I suggest that you check the rates with a pick up at the WDW Car Care Center or one of the local hotels with a rental agency connected with a drop off at MCO. Frequently there is no additional charge to do a drop off at a different place. (They need to get cars to MCO.) If the cost is the same, the time value of not having to go to MCO to pick up your car may be a surprise.

I think it would be a lot easier to pick up on Disney Property. As mentioned the Car care centre at MK, and I've heard they pick you up to get your car. There's also the Swan and Dolphin resort, and several Downtown Disney resort that have rental desks.
