Magical Express / Resort Change

We upgraded our hotel from CSR to WL for our 10/3 -10/10 stay!

CM told me to just change the name of the resort on our luggage tags with a sharpie and it should arrive at WL without a problem but I'm a little nervous.
We are renting a car and are stopping to eat in DTD since we will be arriving at 9PM.

Has anyone done this?? If so, please let me know how it worked out.
I want our luggage to be there when we get to WL!!!!

How long will you be eating? Magical Express can take between 2 and 6 hours to deliver your luggage to your room.

If you aren't riding the bus your luggage will not be transported to the resort at all. Is someone in your party riding the bus and then you will meet up at the resort?

Wedway - We would probably get to the resort around midnight. I thought that luggage delivery would be faster because fewer people arrive at night. Am I mistaken?? Maybe we should just pick up our own luggage.


Safetymom - I have read that your luggage and you often arrive on different buses. The CM told me to just let the WDW check in desk at MCO know about the change to be sure they re-routed my luggage to WL.

I think I'll call ME to be sure.

We upgraded from mod to POLY too! We were also told to just change the name on the luggage tags but were also told they read the sales code on the tag, so when the the change is made to your ressie, it is noted and changed on the code.

HOWEVER - you CANNOT use ME unless you actually ride the bus to the resort! Your luggage will be left at the airport if someone in your party does not use the Disney bus to get to the resort.

Yes your luggage goes in a truck to the resorts. You haven't answered the question several of us have asked, are you riding the bus to the resort? If you aren't then you can't use the luggage delivery to your resort.

Since it's just my son and I, guess we'll have to bring the luggage with us in the car. I was dreaming of landing and just picking up the car!!!

It will still be sweet at check out time though!!
