If I change my room type, but stay at the same resort, therefore changing my reservation, do I need to make a new ME reservation? If so, is the original reservation canceled automatically when I changed the resort reservation? Thanks for any info.

I have no idea. I would assume you need a new ME reservation, but I would call MS to be sure.

I *think* that if your resort reservation number stays the same, the ME reservation should be fine. It turns out they don't cancel your old reservation, though. We kept moving around our spring break reservations and thought (I was told by a CM at MS) that the attached ME reservations would be canceled when the resort reservation was canceled. Well, I think we got 4 sets of ME luggage tags, at different times for each different resort reservation we had canceled!

Thanks for the information. I will wait until I see what happens with my wait list for my final two days because I don't see an easy way to change ME reservations online. Am I missing something

Nope. Unfortunately, like many things Disney, you have to call to make changes.

Oh, Oh- I didn't do that last year-maybe I was just lucky that everything was still OK. I changed from a studio to a 1 BR last year. Come to think of it, the change only affected the arrival. Later I moved to another resort (as originally scheduled) so it was just my arrival reservation that changed. But since I was at the same resort, I didn't even think to call DME to let them know. But thanks for bringing it up. This year, DH and I are in a studio, but on the waitlist for a 1 BR. If/when it comes thru, I probably should call DME to verify our new reservation. Better safe than sorry!

So many things to think about and this wait list thing adds a whole new dimension to planning. Love the boards for getting help with it all!
