Hello!

Does anyone know if you can take the ME to the Disney Car Care Center from the Orlando Airport? Also, can you only take the Magical Express on the day you are checking into your Disney hotel? We are flying down two days before our Disney check in and would rather rent the car through the Car Care Center but have no way of getting there from the airport. Thanks!:)

No, ME only goes to the resorts and only the resort you are checking into.

You cannot take an earlier ME ride, because technically you are not yet a Disney guest.

Yes. you can get from MCO using ME to get to the CCC. It's a little tricky. When you book your WDW reservation, let them know you are coming in early and what you have planned. I am doing the same thing. They took down the information and set up my ME travel to my intending WDW hotel. You will be delivered there. From there you will call the CCC to come pick you up. You will, however, need to keep your luggage with you and not put under the bus. I don't plan to put the special tags on until after I return to WDW to start my vacation. This way there will be no confusion at the airport.

I think you're a little confused. The reason to put the special tags on is so that your luggage won't get sent out to the luggage carousel, but instead will get set aside for the DME people to collect and put on trucks to deliver to the resorts, and from there to guests' rooms. There's no reason to put the tags on once you arrive at WDW.

If you want to collect your luggage yourself, you don't use the tags so that you can then go to baggage claim and get them yourself. If you do that, the luggage will get put under the bus; you can only have your carry-on in the seating area with you.

ME will only take you to the Disney resort you're staying at. You are entitled to one trip to the resort on or after the day you're checking in. You will have to arrange a shuttle, town car or cab if you want to pick up the car at the CCC 2 days before your DW stay. Or you can look into renting the car at the airport.

Are you saying that ME will take you to your Disney resort the day(s) before the start of your resort stay? :confused3 If so, this is very much an exception or a miscommunication since ME stipulates that you can only ride to the resort on or after your check in date. They do check the reservation date at the ME counter before letting you board the bus, so I would double check to make certain that whomever you spoke to wasn't just scheduling ME on the day you're due to check into the resort and not any earlier.

Also, siskaren explained the purpose of the yellow luggage tags.

You can ride Magical Express to your resort on or after check in day. You can definitely arrive early in the morning of check in day before your room is ready and get your park tickets right away.

Getting a ride to your resort before check in day is not within the scope of DME. If you made it happen then that arrangement probably just slipped through.

I'm sorry but DME isn't available until you have a reservation at WDW. You aren't allowed to use it before your reservation starts. If you found someone that told you that you could do that, then you may very well have gotten some bad info!! There is no way I would take that chance. As for the tags....best to not put them on at all. They are good only for arrival at MCO. AFter that, not useful at all. No reason to put them on any bags. They are there to alert the baggage handlers, upon arrival, that the bags are to go directly to WDW, not to baggage claim.

Why not just rent a car from MCO??? It's usually cheaper in any case.
