Magical express question?

Hello,

I am flying into Orlando Nov 29th and staying at a non Disney property uniil Dec 2. We check into our Disney resort Dec 2-14. I plan to rent a car for the first 3 days of our vacation. My question is, if I drop my rental car off at the airport on Dec 2nd can we use magical express to get to our resort even though we didn't fly in that day?

Yep! You can make a reservation for one round trip from December 2nd through the 14th.

Disney doesn't care how you arrive at the airport. If you have a valid resort reservation, you're entitled to ride DME.

Agree with the above you can use DME, just wanted to suggest you also price out dropping the car off at one of the Disney locations as sometimes there isn't an additional cost.

There is a Hertz at the Dolphin, an Alamo at the car care center and a few near Disney springs.

Either way you may want to drop your bags off at your wdw resort before returning the rental car - less hassle

Disney is going to ask for flight information. Just look up a flight that is arriving and use that number. MDE won't cross check to see if you actually have a reservation.

Disney won't necessarily ask for flight information. Call DME (not the Disney line) and tell them what you want to do.

People do this all the time.

Last trip I did not fly into MCO. I had flown into Alabama for business prior to our Disney trip. I then rented a car and drove to WDW. Checked into resort, dropped off luggage then drove to MCO and returned the car there. Met family arriving at MCO and we all rode ME to resort. When I booked ME I simply listed myself on the same flight as my family. No problem. Disney doesn't care how you got to MCO. If you're staying onsite you can ride ME both ways. The flight info is used only for the purpose of scheduling ME times.

Inbound flight info isn't used for anything, really. For the MCO-Resort leg, DME only wants to know, roughly, how many passengers are arriving per hour for general planning purposes. They aren't assigning you to a specific bus, and they won't be anxiously waiting for you or sending out search parties to find you. They're just not that into you. You're just a generalized statistic.

Outbound flight is a different story. They do care about your flight time here, as they need to be sure they get you to the airport on time to make your flight.
