Okay today at work i found out that i cant miss the day we (my family and I) were suppose to complete our drive back from Disney from work :headache:. So now i am flying back from Orlando to Cincinnati by myself :scared: (first time flying). So my question is can i book magical express just for myself even though there are other people on our resort reservation? I would only use it to get from Port Orleans riverside to the airport after our stay. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Just call Magical Express and tell them. I have used it by myself, before and after my family for work reasons. I have also used it for a buddy of mine to ride back to the airport after he drove down with us and none of us used it. Its not an issue.

As long as your name is on the room reservation, you'll have no problem getting a ride using DME.

One tip since this is your first time flying... don't check a bag. Put enough clothes/supplies in a carry on sized bag to last you 24 hours (this is in case your plane gets delayed). The amount of time you'll save by not checking luggage and not having to wait at your destination for the checked luggage is worth it!

Read up on the procedures for getting through TSA. Don't let that stress you out.

Keep in mind, DME will schedule your pickup for 3 hours before your flight +/- 15 minutes. You're expected to be at the pickup location 15 minutes before that scheduled time ready to board the bus.

You should have written confirmation of your Magical Express bus departure time back to the airport, by the morning of the day before the day you will leave.

This is normally delivered to your room that morning. If not, or if you need to make a last minute change (or the reservation itself), go down to the front desk and get it before heading off to the parks that morning of the day before the day you leave. Should it take awhile to get the new confirmation sheet, come back and get it as soon as it is ready, not late that evening.

Shoot to be back at your resort an hour before your DME bus. A little sooner if you left bags with the bellhop. If you miss that bus then it's the end of the world. There is no assurance you can get on the next bus or when that will be.

Thanks everyone for the tips and advice. It will be my fist time flying so thanks for the tips. The advice about clothes in the carry on i was planning that, my suitcase will be coming back with my in laws that are driving back. So all i have will be carry on.

Any more advice on flying for the first time will be greatly appreciated. I was hoping my DH would fly back with me, but oh well.

Just remember that turbulence is normal, and it will be over with before you know it!

Flying is wonderful- but I agree, definitely stressful the first time you do it. I agree with familiarize yourself with the TSA procedures. I find the time from getting to the airport to getting through security to be the most stressful.

Disney gets you there WELL ahead of your flight, so you should be fine with time.

Okay here's my take on turbulence (Pilot and former Flight Attendant). Turbulence is an airplane hitting a wave of air. Kind of like a boat rides on waves of water, the air has waves in it as well. Scientifically, air is a fluid. Best advice I have for new flyers is enjoy it. Look out the window, relax, and think about going on vacation. Read up on the TSA rules (lots of posts here to help) and your airline's baggage fee's etc. Try to pack as light as possible (tell that to my wife...ha!) and don't sweat if you forget something. You can't do anything about it once you get to WDW so relax and enjoy the trip!
