Added a room only to the beginning of my vacation package. Can I still use magical express?

As long as the room is at a Disney resort. The ability to use DME isn't dependent on having a package.

Call whomever you booked your room reservation with and have DME added. You need to have a DME reservation in order to get on the bus.
