My friend is leaving for Disney weds. and we just booked the trip yesterday(sunday) for him. Will they send the magical express luggage tags in time before he leaves? And if they don't how does he get his luggage to the hotel from the baggage claim and where does he go once he gets off the plane?
Thanx

With just 3 day notice it is not sure he will get the yellow Magical Express luggage tags in time.

But he can go directly to the DME welcoming area* and show his baggage claim checks and they will sned his baggage to the room for him just the same. (There are a few other details like picking out the shapes of the bags from a chart.)

Almost all planes come in to satellite terminals connected to the main building by elevated tram lines similar to monorails.

He would get off the airport tram in the main building and exit security and come out into the open. THen look to one side to see the 3 foot neon B on the wall. (If he sees the neon A, he should turn the other way.)

Then over to the B side, down two full flights (to the lowest level). With the windows to the outside at his left, he would go down the long corridor to find the DME welcoming area.

If his airline's carousels are on the A side and he chooses to go there then he must come back up to the top level (level 3), cross over to the B side, then go down to DME.

Baggage items hand carried to the DME area go under the bus. He would need to tip the driver handing the bags back to him upon arrival at the resort and tip the bellhop who brought them up to the room. Except he would not have to wait in the room for bags delivered up by DME.

The main building can be compared with a football stadium where the trams and security areas are at the goal posts and the A and B sides are the side grandstands.

* All guests arriving afte 10 PM must go to the carousels and hand carry all bags to the DME welcoming area. If something did not arrive, file a claim before leaving the carousel area.

DME needs 10 days to get packets printed out and sent to the guest, so no, I doubt he will get anything.
So...he gets off the tram from the gate (everyone takes it). He has two options here...he can get his own luggage and bring it to the bus with him, or he can go directly to DME and have someone else get his luggage from baggage claim and take it to the resort. So....If his plane lands on Side A of the terminal, he can go down to baggage claim on level 2 (he arrived on level 3), get his bags, then return to level 3 and cross through the main terminal to Side B. If his plane arrives on Side B, he just goes there directly (no need to do anything special). He now goes down to level 2 and gets is baggage there.
If he chooses to not get his own bags, he goes directly to Side B, level 1, described below.

Okay...now he has his bag, and is on level 2, Side B. He now goes down one level to level 1, ground transportation. All the way at the end of that area you can find DME..it is after the car rental counters and Mears counter. If bags haven't been picked up by your friend at this point, he will go up to the counter, give the CM his baggage claim receipt and a description of the bags. Someone will be sent to get the bags from baggage claim and get them to the resort.
If he has the bags in hand, he will go to the bus and the bags will go beneath the bus in storage and handed off to him when he gets to his resort.

Either way works....just depends on what he prefers to do. If it were me, I would get he bags myself and have them in hand.
