Magical Express Question

We are flying into Orlando in August at 11:35am, but are planning on renting a car and going to Kennedy Space Center for the day. We'll return to MCO around 7:30pm, and will then head to our Disney resort. Can our luggage be picked up after our flight by Magical Express -- or do we have to bring our luggage in the rental car to KSC with us, then bring it on the bus to our resort? Thanks!

I think I understand what you are asking so I will try to help.. I'm pretty sure you'll have to take your luggage with you to the space center. I'm not sure if you've used magical express before? Basically, you get your luggage and get in line to get on the bus. You then hand your luggage to the driver and he/she places it underneath. Then basically the same idea when you get to the hotel. I doubt that they will go ahead and take your luggagge since it usually stays with you the whole time anyway. They probably don't want to be responsible for it. Honestly you are probably better off just to keep it with you anyway. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have anymore Magical Express questions. I have utilized their services a lot.

Thank you! We've used Magical Express before, and I thought we didn't need to pick up our luggage at the baggage claim - Disney did it for us - hence my question. We'll most likely take our luggage with us - but thought I'd check! Thanks again!

There is a "sticky" near the top of the Transportation forum that addresses wanting to use DME's luggage service without using its bus service.

I think I'm getting what you're doing...arrive at MCO, rent a car and head to Kennedy for the afternoon. Return to MCO, return the car, take DME to your WDW resort. Question is...if you tag your checked bags, will DME grab them for you in the morning and take them to your resort, while you are off at Kennedy for the day. (I think).

That shouldn't be an issue. Plenty of people let DME take their bags while they get a rental car...and they go directly to WDW. I don't think there would be any issue with you tagging your bags, letting DME grab them, and then your heading to Kennedy for the day. You will spend a fair amount of time traveling around Florida though. If you land at 11:30, you will get to Kennedy by about 1pm...takes time to get to rental counters and then out of the airport area, plus 50+ min drive to Kennedy. Then, an hour back to MCO, return the car, it is now 8ish...DME to your resort...you should be at the resort by 9:30ish.

If I'm reading the OP's question correctly, the OP plans to use the inbound DME luggage service and inbound DME motorcoach transportation, both on the same day. So this isn't a case of "wanting to use DME's luggage service without using its bus service."

Many people don't head straight for the motorcaoch. For example, a family might have lunch in the airport first. DME passengers are not scheduled on a specific motorcoach. In the OP's case, the trip to the Space Center is equivalent to an 8-hour lunch.

It might look strange to bell services at the hotel if the bags arrive in the early afternoon, but the guests don't check in until around 9:00 p.m.
