The last few times we've gone to WDW, we've flown Continental. I am trying to find a cheaper flight and am wondering which airlines are included with Magical Express. Can someone help me? Thanks! :)

I know that when the service began the airlines included American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Song, United Airlines, Ted and Northwest Airlines. Of course, Song no longer exists. I know United/Ted are still participating, and I'm pretty sure the others are as well. I know if there are any changes to this list another DISer will chime in.

You can fly into and out of MCO on any airline. All airlines allow you to leave your luggage at MCO, hop on the ME bus and wait for the suitcases to appear in your room.

The "particpating" airlines listed above allow you to check your bags at the resort for your return flight.

With other airlines, for your return flight, you carry your own bags to the ME bus. Upon arrival at MCO you take your bags and check them yourself. If you have a late flight, after check out, your resort will hold your bags until it is time for your ME deoarture.

Sometimes you can get better rates on airlines that are not participating -- it is a trade off of money and convienience.

The Transportation Forum at the DIS has a great FAQ thread. It lists all the airlines, procedures, etc.

If you have JetBlue in your area, their prices are great- and they are included in Disney's Airline Check-In, so on your last day you can check in for your flight, check your luggage, and just hop on DME when it's time to head to the airport.

JET BLUE! First time I tried Jet Blue was last year to Disney and I'm so scared of planes, but I felt really comfortable on jet blue it was amazing.
And it's cheaper than regular flights, I don't know how they do it!

Thanks everyone for your help and information. Almost have the DH cracked. Just have to give him a listing of prices!! Wish me luck! :goodvibes

Just to expand on what redwitch said ....

EVERYONE who flies into MCO and who is a registered guest at a Disney owned-and-operated resort can use the full force of DME services upon arrival. EVERYONE. ON EVERY AIRLINE. EVERYONE gets the automatic baggage delivery, meaning you put DME tags on your checked luggage at home, you check it at your home airport like normal, when you land at MCO you totally skip baggage claim, and your bags "magically" appear inside your resort room whether you're in there or not.

On the way home from WDW, THAT'S where airline matters. People on "participating airlines" can check in their luggage at their resort (at the Resort Airline Check-in desk), and then not see that luggage again until it's at their home airport's baggage claim carousel. They can also check in for their flight and receive their boarding passes.

People who are not eligible to use RAC simply bring their luggage to the bus (rather than bringing it to the RAC desk), the driver loads it under the bus, and then unloads it for you at the airport and you get it back and check in with your airline like usual.

I've never used RAC. I'd like to, but personally I wouldn't pay more money to fly a participating airline if a non-participating airline were cheaper.

Dang Eric, you are like the information-station yourself.
You should be made a moderator....good realiable information and you never get into the tiffs.

I wish I could be you! :rotfl:
Seriously.....you posted what I was going to say, tho. Me thinks you have mind reading capabilities, too. ;)

We flew JetBlue and used Resort Airline Check-in (RAC) this past November... Everything worked out wonderfully and I don't think we paid extra! The RAC system was totally convenient and we were able to enjoy another half-day at a park before taking off for home... :)

One thing to note though, if you opt to fly a participating airline and use the RAC system, in November at POP Century they were super strict about the baggage weight limits... We saw a family redistributing their luggage contents right there at the check-in spot because you couldn't pay them the fee to be over the weight limit, like you would at the airport check in... Just another thing to keep in mind!

Thank you again for all of the information! it's been really helpful. I checked online with continental.com and they want to charge $208 roundtrip from Newark (EWR) to MCO. I checked Jet Blue and it was only $99-$150! I think we'll be flying Jet Blue this year! thanks so much for all of the helpful information! We are looking forward to another great trip this year!!! 5 YEARS IN A ROW! I CAN'T BELIEVE HE AGREED TO IT!

OK, another Newark airport guest :) We fly out of newark. I couldn't believe how easy it was. Oct 06 my father drove me, the hubby and 2 friends to Newark Airport Jet blue area. We literally got out of the car, some guy wisked away our luggage and it was done. DONE! Check in and everything right then and there. No waiting in lines. Literally took less than 5 minutes for 4 of us. When we arrived in Disney at CSR a few hours later our luggage was in the room for us. It was great!

BTW- what part of NJ do you live in? I was born and raised in NJ for 27 years until I had to move to NY because the husband is a cop. I'm from Garwood. (Near Westfield/Cranford)

any airline,,,,Disney just needs to know flight times so they have enough busses,,,and also to get you back to the airport on time....

the main thing is you do not have to worry about the luggage,,,when you arrive at the main area of the airport start looking for the people with the mickey hands,,,,if they still have them,,,

my wife and i flew on Hooters air,,,just needed to give disney the info verbally....

to make your trip go smoother use curbside check in,,,your luggage will already be tagged for disney,,,use the kiosk or see if they can print your ticket at the baggage check in.....

your luggage will now arrive in your room,,,you do not touch it once you leave it...

make sure you check the weather forecast to make sure you are dressed appropriately,,,and enjoy some time in the parks before you go to your room..

We like to fly from newark, does jet fly direct. I don't want anything with a connecting flight.

We fly Jet blue out of Newark on our last trip in November. It was a direct flight, $99. each way. Same as the other poster, we were met at the arrival drop off by a Jet blue employee, he took our luggage and I never saw it again until it got to our room a few hours later. It was really great!

Best value Southwest out of Philly. Haven't paid over $59 each way yet.

I was raised in Middletown (Monmouth County). DH was raised in Rahway (Union County). We now live in Hazlet (Monmouth County). I really love it here!
