My DSIS,DBIL,DN14,DN12,DN7,DN5 are traveling with us to Disney in August. We are all staying at POR and DN14 will be staying with us in our room, but, my sister is arriving 4 hrs before us on a different airline. We are renting a car, but, they are planning on using ME. Now, here is where it gets complicated ... How will DN board the ME without us, should I just give DSIS my ME voucher, so, my niece can take the ME with them? is this not allowed? Also, another interesting question.... my DBIL is arriving with DN7
three days later can they use ME or will they have to rent a car? Sorry for all the questions, but, as you can see my DSIS has 4 kids and their lives are always this interesting :cool1:

Thanks!! :yay:

I'm in a similar situation. After a couple of phone calls with Disney reading literally several hundred posts on the subject, here is what I've been able to piece together.

I'm flying into MCO 2 hours before my parents. (I'm a 22 y/o college kid btw) It's their name primarily on the ressie. We've ended up making two seperate DME reservations, one for them, one for me. I'm a little fuzzy on the actual DME check in process, but I've got a couple of weeks to figure that out. I don't see any reason why the rest of your party could do something similar to what I've done. DME is for every WDW resort geust, regardless of when they show up in relation to the rest of their party.

As long as each person (including children) is named on the room reservation, you will have no problem having each person use DME, even if every single one of you arrived on a different flight or even a different day. The requirements to use DME are that you fly a commercial airline into MCO and are a registered guest at a Disney owned-and-operated resort. There's no rule (or even a desire on Disney's part) that you all have to use DME transportation and luggage delivery at the same time. It's not like one of those restaurants that won't seat you unless your entire party is present.

Well, I have a similar issue. I fly in on a Monday morning, on Delta. My dh and dd fly in on Tuesday night, on JB. We are all on the reservation. So....Disney Travel tells us we can't do this...many calls to them. They even contact DME directly, who tells them how to book it. As DME says..."Each person on that reservation gets a trip from the airport to a resort, and then a trip back to the airport. Doesn't matter when they arrive at the airport." So....based on this info, from the horse'smouth (when I called myself!!) I am putting on the yellow tags onto all our bags and taking them with me on Monday. then on Tuesday, when dh and dd arrive, they will just have some carryon stuff, and they can just go to DME check-in...where they can be found in the system.
I would think that your dn just has to put a luggage tag on her bag, if she has a bag to check, and then proceed as normal. Even if it is a different arrival time.

To expedite things, especially the baggage delivery to the resort, make a copy of the voucher or stub page that matches the yellow tickets you used, and also the room reservation, for each group to show to the ME welcoming area CM.

You will need actual vouchers for the trip back home. If the welcoming area folks are unable to generate vouchers given the photocopies you bring, the return trip can be arranged at the resort (at least a day before checkout).

Thank you, I'm glad to see we are not alone in this situation. To be honest, I told my sister not to ask Disney travel until I posted on the board. I just knew that someone here would know what to do ... Thanks!! :hippie:
