Hi everyone. We have a resservation at CSR from Sunday the 25th until Feb 1st. We just discovered that we could do an "extra" day and booked Saturday night as well. We found another flight on Jet Blue. It's really working out great. My question is, can we still hop on Magical Express a day early? I'm not going to tag my luggage anyway & I plan on taking it on the bus myself. If I show up at the greeting center at the airport, they'll take us to Disney, right?? Thanks a lot & stay warm!

You should contact ME and update them with your new flight number and new date of arrival.

If you are booked at a Disney resort, you can take ME even if you don't have it booked ahead of time -- unless you arrive at a time that the buses do not run. Having said that, if your flight may arrive after 11 pm (anything can happen -- it's winter time) and you have informed them of your flight information, they will be there to pick you up.

Unfortunately, this is not true. You MUST have a DME reservation in order to ride the bus to the resort, you cannot just 'walk up'. Also DME will run virtually 24/7 and get you to the resort, it just might take a bit longer in the wee hours.

OP--I'd call DME or CRO and update your new flight and arrival date. Piece o' cake.

In order to ride DME you must have a reservation at a WDW owned resort that is in effect the day you wish to ride to the resort. If you 'add' a day, at the start, but do not tell DME, then no, you can not ride DME because you don't have a reservation with them for that day...Sat in this case.
Just call them, give them the new arrival date and you'll be good to go. No, you won't have time to get new tags/vouchers, but that's not a big deal. As long as the arrival info is correct in their system, you're good to go.
But...you do have to call them to add that new arrival day. Otherwise, you aren't entitled to be on that bus until Sun.

Thanks a lot everyone. I'll eat a piece of chocolate lava cake at the Rainforest Cafe for all of you. :cool1:

I thought the busses ran 24/7?

They pretty much do, but it is based on premade reservations.

Their published operating hours are 6am till 11pm. HOWEVER, they will keep staff at the desk and buses and/or taxis available as long as there are people on their reservation list whose flight has not landed yet.

Worst case scenario is your original flight number is cancelled and you are moved to a different flight number and arrive at 3 in the morning. (And you don't have an opportunity to inform them of this change) You will still be transported and your luggage will still be magically transported to your resort, but there may be a sign at the desk asking you to call a phone number and they will dispatch transportation for you.

For the return TO the airport, you should have given them your returning flight information when checking in at the desk and your return will be scheduled as necessary. The earliest flights out of MCO in the morning are usually around 5:30 am, so yes buses are picking up folks from the resorts as early as 2:30 am.

Good. We are scheduled to land at MCO abbout 10:53 p.m. and are signed up with DME. Glad to know they will be there when we get there. Thanks.

I know everyone has corrected you on this one already, but I wanted to add some info. Disney's Magical Express cannot handle walk-ups due to Disney's contract with the Greater Orlando Airport Authority. This was a controversial topic and was a concession that was fought for by the local ground transportation industry. It is taken very seriously. If it could be proven that Disney transported a "walk-up" on DME, they would be in breach of their contract with the GOAA, and Disney doesn't want to risk that.
