Magical Express or town Car?

ME is great. The only downside is the long delivery period of your luggage to your room. I have had bad experiences on my last two trips. I don't know if it is ME or valet. Last trip, it took nearly 6 hours for our luggage to be delivered. It all really depends on how quick you want access to your luggage.

Next trip, we are going to use ME but we are not tagging our luggage. We will tote our luggage to the ME bus.

question - we just booked an october trip - arriving at 839pm on tues oct 7 - i signed up for DME for the first time (tiffany town previously). what's the opinion on a late arrival such as ours, with DME? will we wait around the airport for more passengers? will they deliver our luggage in the middle of the nite? what's your experience with a late arrival? btw - we're at AKL

Good question. We will be arriving in Jan in the evening. I am looking forward to hearing reports and opinions.

We rent a National car at MCO and turn it in the next day at the Dolphin and then use a towncar back to MCO at the end of our stay. The rental car at the beginning allows us to grocery shop to fill our villa frig cheaper than a grocery delivery service and the towncar back to MCO allows us to maximize our time at WDW before we have to leave for our flight.

We used ME in April - 4 adults and 2 little ones 5 and 2. Bucket's full of baggage, stroller, etc. Once we got the airport in Milwaukee we never had to touch it again until we got home. Just like

I have not problem with the wait at the airport, see no reason to pay for something that is "free" and have no need for a rental car as we, like others, are 100% on property when we are at WDW.

We pack swim suits and "emergency undies" in the carry-ons, as well as anything weather specific (poncho's if we are flying into rain, shorts if we are leaving WI in a blizzard etc) and the wait for the luggage is never a problem.

For my money (free!!!) I'll take ME any time.

I'm a frequent business traveler and I'm used to having to haul my carry-on bag with me all the time. That's why I love ME. Go check in at the airport and then I'm free! No bags to lug around!

Of course, sometimes it does take a while to get to your resort. But DH and I put on the iPod with a splitter and listen to Wishes, Spectromagic, Epcot Tapestry of Dreams and Festival of the Lion King the whole way to where ever we are staying, so we start our trip off with some of our own Disney Magic!

But I see that many DVCers here at the Dis use ME. Is it just a Mears experience in disguise?
I would appreciate any pros and cons.

It's Mears in a thin disguise! When we needed to contact Mears in January 2005 (a few months before DME began), the front desk CM at our hotel gave us an internal number to reach Mears, saying that they're Disney now. That being said, I've used DME at least 6 times now (including a few days after they began in May, 2005) and never had a problem. But then, I never minded Mears either-I always looked at my ride from the airport as part of my vacation and an opportunity to meet other excited guests.

Never used ME before as we always rent a car.
If I was to bring my golf clubs next trip, tag them with the ME label or whatever I receive in the mail, would the clubs get delivered to my room if we didn't take the bus? We always carry on our luggage so the golf clubs would be the only "bag" needing a lift. Just don't want to hang around at the carousel waiting for my clubs.

TOWNCAR (actually ours is SUV Service) SERVICE ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!!! I would rather pay 100 bucks and have my driver/car waiting on me when I arrive, and zip us off to the resort much faster than the free ME. We have perfect service each and every time. It is a no brainer and always will be for us.
