We're driving to Orlando from West Palm Beach but are flying back to NY after a stay at the Poly (yeah!!). Can we use Magical Express for our return only or does it have to be booked for the arrival into Disney as well as departure? I hope we can use it since we don't leave until 6pm and it sounds like a great way to get rid of the bags and easily get to the airport.

You should be able to do that. It would depend if your airline is participating in the check in at your resort whether or not you can say goodbye to your bags. If your airline is participating at your resort you will recieve your boarding pass and they will take your luggage. If it isn't participating then you will take your bags on the bus with you and have to check in at the airport.

I suggest you call Magical Express and get the details for your situation.

My travel agent WAS able to book the Magical Express for us one way --- from the hotel to the airport only for a Jet Blue flight. Thought I'd pass on the info...

Figured they would most likely do it for you. But, unless JetBlue is now on the list of 'participating' airlines, you will still have to take your bags with you to the airport, on the bus. Yes, Bell Services will hold them for you until you leave the resort on the bus, but you will still need to carry them yourself. I think that so far, unless others have been added recently, the only airlines that are considered to be 'participating' are Delta, Song, United, Ted and maybe Northwest. I'm sure there are others but I can't remember right now. But, the last I heard, SW and JetBlue hadn't joined yet. If you use a 'participating' airline, you are able to get your boarding pass at your resort and get rid of your luggage right then. Then, when you are ready to leave the resort, you hop on the bus, go to the airport and head for security. Otherwise you will retrieve your luggage from bell services, load onto the bus, go to the airport, check-in there as usual, check your luggage and then go to security.

That's exactly what I was hoping to avoid since we'll need more time to do that - I hoped we'd get rid of our luggage through to check in at the airport. Thanks for posting back - I'll have to call Jet Blue and find out. I'll post any info I can.

Please let us know what you hear. Any word on adding any other airlines? I am leaving let in day and would love to take in park one last time then head straight to airport!

I called the other day and was told that all airlines that fly into Orlando are participating. I told the CM I would be flying Southwest or Jet Blue and they told me I won't have to deal with my luggage at all. This have better be true, cause I could have booked Delta just as easily!!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

This is true, but I believe the OP was looking for a one-way trip going back to MCO. In that case, all airlines are not 'participating'. Yes, you can leave your baggage with Bell Services at your resort until it is time to leave for the airport...just like you can do now. Then, when it's time to board the DME bus to MCO, you take your luggage with you, on the bus. Then at the airport you check-in and check your baggage as usual. Those flying with the 'participating' airlines will be able to 'check-in' for their flight back at the resort! Their luggage will than be whisked away to the airport by a seperate truck, not the bus. Then when it's time to leave they will board the same bus as everyone else, but when they get to the airport they can go straight to security since they have already checked in and gotten their boarding passes back at the resort.

The time you will save will actually be at the airport. You don't have to stand in any check-in lines to get rid of your luggage. But, that really only saves you maybe 20 minutes tops, in my experience. And since we're all on the same bus, it shouldn't be any big deal. I just love being able to get rid of my bags and not have to lug them from the resort to the airport and get them checked.
