Magical Express/ No Flight

My inlaws are flying into MCO and renting a car to visit friends for a week before they meet us at the airport (return the car ) and we all take Magical Express to OKW. Do they bring their own luggage to the Magical Express area, and is it still delivered to their room? Thanks

i believe the deal is if you have your own luggage it gets loaded right onto the same bus you're riding and it gets unloaded at the resort along w/you... therefore you may be able to transport it to your room yourself, or if your room is not ready, you may have to check it with luggage assistance and then they will deliver it... i cannot imagine it would be a problem to get it delivered...

WDW resort guests are entitled to use Magical Express on their resort check-in date, regardless of how they arrive at the airport.

However, the "magical" luggage handling is based on arrival by air. The bags are pulled before they go to baggage claim and are sorted for transport to WDW resorts on luggage trucks.

So your in-laws would take their luggage to DME Welcome Center, and the driver will load it into the luggage hold of the motorcoach. (A tip is appropriate when the driver unloads the luggage at the resort.)

If your in-laws are passing near WDW on their way to the airport, they may want to stop at their resort and have their bags unloaded by bell services. (Again, a tip is appropriate.) Then, they wouldn't have drag their luggage through the airport.

another thought... if your ils are renting from either national or alamo, they can return the car on-site at disney for no add'l charge... there is a car return at the dolphin and at the car care center... if ret'd to the car care center, they offer a free shuttle to their disney resort (and what we've done in the past is rent the car at the airport, do the mandated visiting of relatives, stop at our resort and check-in, drop off luggage and then bring the car to either the dolphin and catch a bus to a theme park for the remainder of the day or to the ccc and grab the shuttle back to our resort, depending upon time)... they make it easy!
