Going to AKV - Kidani in 3 weeks!!! YEAH!!!! Just heard from our friend who is going with us...they booked their flight to get in about 1/2 hour after us. He is planning to carry on his luggage. There are 4 of us travelling...2 adults...2 kids. We were planning to do the luggage to the resort.

But...question is...we'll probably wait around the airport until his flight gets in....so since we're going to be waiting around...would we be better off getting our own luggage and bringing it on the shuttle? Then we wouldn't have to wait on the luggage in the room....?????

What are your thoughts? It's been a while since we've used Magical Express...so any words of wisdom are welcome!!

Thanks!!!

I would probably just go to the bathroom, maybe grab a snack and hang out by where his flight will land.
But I could see grabbing your bags and hanging out by me for him. It's really a personal choice.

The whole point to ME is to let them take your bags. I wouldn't do it, just because they are taking carry-ons.

In addition, depending on how busy the flight is, they may end up having to have their baggage gate checked anyway and would have to wait for it to be taken on the plane at the gate. These days the entire world is trying to get as much on the plane to avoid the baggage fees; you wouldn't believe what gets carried through the security gate.

Their flight could be late, etc.

I would just head to the resort and let ME take your bags.

The unofficial goal is for your baggage to get to your room via Magical Express within three hours after you can.

If you dilly dally at the airport, the yellow tagged bags still go on their merry way right away and the the expected time difference between your and your baggage's getting to the room gets smaller.

That's a tough call;

If your arrving early in the day your room isn't likely to be ready so I would let DME deliver the bags. This way your not getting the bags, taking them on the bus, getting them off, tipping the driver only to have bell services store them for you and deliver them later (another tip).

If your arrving closer to 3 - 4ish and have say one rolling bag per person (no kids) then I would be temped to pick up the bags.

Orlando is an airport with fun ways to kill time - have a beverage if your all adutls that is, shop or eat while your waiting!

I will say I have had excellent experience with the luggage delivery feature - usually land, head to the resort, hit the pool or a park and return to find my bags in the room.

Either way you can't go wrong :)

I would let ME handle your checked bags. It's the best part of ME. We've used ME several times and on two occasions, our bags were in our room when we got to the resort. (We did not dilly dally at the airport; the resort check-in lines were a little long, however.) This happened at CSR and POR.

Unless you pack a vital phone number in your checked luggage :umbrella: or you're traveling with your adult daughter who ignores your expert advice and packs only flip-flops in her carry-on luggage... there's absolutely no need to hang around your room waiting for your luggage to be delivered. None. Zero. Zip. Nada. Rien. Bubkes. Yes, I know I stretching the translations, but you get the point.
