Hi!

Just wondering if anyone can comment on how it went with the Disney Magical Express picking you and your luggage up from the airport.

We're flying Vancouver to Denver to Orlando - Will all these transfers (and customs checks) screw up our ME pick ups? I'm worried our bags might get misplaced. We're a group of 6 people so it's a lot of stuff!

Also, when should I expect the luggage tags in the mail? I'm worried they will send them too late to get all the way to Canada! What do I do if they don't arrive in time?

Thanks!

(I'm thinking we might skip the ME and just hire a car for the night, but I want to make sure I have all the info first!)

Picking up Bags and doing Magic express is easier than ordering fries at McDonalds. No problem at all ... I would save your rental and take ME. I assume you are picking up your bags because you arrive late?

We found Magical Express to be great. Got the luggage tags about a month before we went. Put the tags on your bags before you check in at YVR. When you get to Orlando, just get off the plane and go find the Magical Express area (probably have to change terminals). You will already have your bus vouchers as they come with the luggage tags. Take a quick bus ride to your resort and check in. You can now go and enjoy the parks or pools or whatever your heart desires. When you return to your room later in the day, your bags will be there. We were worried the first time but it works quite well. All customs will be done in Vancouver so no need to worry about that. Hope you have a great trip.

We've used ME about 10 times starting the first year they offered it and never had any luggage go astray. We always connect through a US airport, usually Newark, but also Boston, with US pre-clearance done here in Halifax. :thumbsup2

Plus using ME is kind of like having family pick you up! It's so much less stressful after a long day to just go down that escalator, have someone smile and welcome you home and relax on the bus instead of navigating the car rental lines, figuring out how to get out of the airport, find your way to the resort....stress, stress, stress. Much nicer to relax on the bus and watch a movie.

Even when I rent a car I wait until I get there. And the ME guys and gals have always made me feel way more special then the car rental people hands down :rotfl:

Yes we have never had a issue with using ME and the luggage.

However here are a few things that might hamper the plan. What time you fly out of YVR, if its late at night there is a chance the pre-clearance area may not be open, in this case you will clear customs in Denver I believe since that is your first entry into the US, same as any customs area, you will get bags clear customs and check in again, but your stuff can still go on ME.

If you get there after a certain time at night (I believe its 10pm) you will need to gather your bags and take them on ME with you. Its not a bad thing, just a extra step, and the drivers are more then helpful.

We picked up our own bags before heading to ME last time, only because our ME tags never did make it to us. It took next to no time and was too easy.
