We leave in 5 days and still do not have some of our luggage tags for Magical Express. We made the reservation in Aug. Part of our group is coming from Michigan, we're fine, but our DD and SIL are flying in from Dallas and don't have their packet. Since we are renting points from a DVC owner, DVC will not talk with me. The owner is stumped, he has a confirmation, but no tags. We're all getting nervous. Has this happened to anyone else, if so how did you handle it?
 
So you have your tags?

Basically the DVC owner sent the tags (that's what confirmation number you are talking about? like a tracking number?) and you got your shipment, but the folks in TX havent?

I would guess that if you have a confirmation number and information you should still be able to use the DME transportation, and worst case would be that whoever doesnt have their tags has to claim their own bags, and drag them along..
 
As long as you have solid DME reservations, then it really doesn't matter if some of you don't have DME luggage tags. Every single one of you can still use the DME luggage handling/delivery.

Since Day One, they've had a procedure in place for people without tags. Skip baggage claim, go to the Disney Welcome Center (DME counter). They'll ask if you tagged your bags. When you say "No," they'll ask you for your baggage claim ticket numbers as well as a physical description of your bags. A CM will then be dispatched to claim your bags for you, new DME tags will be printed and affixed, and your bags will be sent on their way with the rest of the DME luggage.

No worries ... and no need for some in your party to lug the luggage around!!!:woohoo:
 
You say part of the group is fine, but another part still hasn't received their packet....this concerns me. Only one packet is sent out per reservation. So..let's say there are two families..one from Michigan, and one from Dallas, staying at the resort. What tags came in your packet? You should have gotten two yellow tags for each person on the reservation....wouldn't matter where they live. The primary person on the reservation is the person who will get the packet and then be responsible for getting the tags to everyone.

If there are no tags for the group from Dallas, have them just go to baggage claim and get their own luggage. They can then take it to the bus with them. But, I would call DME personally just to be sure that everyone is on the reservation as far as they are concerned. There may have been a miscommuniction and the other group was not added to the transportation part. Just double check and play it safe.

DOH, my bad, that's right, just do that :). Although I did say that lugging the bags was a 'worst case' scenario :)
 
Thanks everyone. We got the tags and passes for 6 of us but not the other 2. Their flight numbers were changed so the ME reservation had to be redone, which it was but we never got their luggage tags or bus passes. I'll try calling again. As long as everyone can get on the shuttle, we'll be OK. I just don't want to have to leave someone at the airport. That wouldn't be a good start to our vacation.
