Hey !

I have a question. I'm gonna be flying from Montreal (YUL) to Orlando (MCO). I'm asking if I clear customs at Montreal and put the yellow tags on and my bags fly off, or do I clear customs at MCO and pick up my bags?

I would just like to know if you guys have previous experiences for the bag delivery to your resort room. I have this stress that gets into me :scared:

And also, for the MagicBands. I'm guessing that I have to put my Canadian address to customize it, but I have seen other people getting this error and have to enter their Disney resort hotel address. Did that change, or do they know updated it to know automatically that putting my Canadian address in it well be sent directly to my resort hotel?

Thanks for your feedback! :smickey:

Can't help with the bags I'm afraid, we always collect our cases because we spend our first evening chilling in our hotel/unpacking etc so there's no point in waiting for them to be delivered.
Magic bands will be ready for you at your Disney resort when you check in because you have a Canadian address

MB are only shipped to guest who live in the USA. as for baggage here is some info I found for you
* Before you arrive, about two to three weeks, you will receive in the mail an Airport Transportation Booklet containing general information and special Disney's Magical Express luggage tags for your bags.

Disney's Magical Express will mail only one luggage tag per person, as travelers are now flying with less luggage due to various changes on the airlines. If you need additional luggage tags, you can request them by contacting Disney's Magical Express at 866-599-0951.

Also,Disney's Magical Express will only mail the Airport Transportation Booklet and luggage tags to guests located in the United States and Canada. If you are located in countries other than the United States and Canada you can still use the full extent of the Disney's Magical Express service, including the resort luggage delivery. You will receive all the pertinent information, including transportation vouchers, upon check-in at the Disney's Magical Express Welcome Center. These vouchers are used for transportation to the resort and then back to the airport. You can either collect your luggage at Baggage Claim and it will travel with you on the motorcoach or you may have Disney's Magical Express collect the luggage and deliver it to your room. The luggage delivery time may take up to four hours to be delivered to the resort room.

I have seen this question several times in the last month. From what I recall, because you clear US customs with your bags at the major airports in Canada, you can put the tags on them and DME will take them to your room.

Try to do a search or just go back in the list of posts day by day and I'm sure you'll find the recent questions and answers about it.

bumbershoot is correct.. you will put your yellow resort bands/tags on your luggage before checking it with your airline for retrieval by Disney - it will take approx 4 hours for your bags to get to your room post arrival.

That said, pack essentials in your carry on so you will have them, we always pack for arrival day in our carry on bags. (change of clothes, swim suits, PJs, sunscreen, toiletries)

If your flight arrives at MCO after 10pm do NOT place the yellow tags on it - you will need to collect your own luggage & proceed with it to the DME area... it will ride along with you to your resort on the bus (under carriage storage)

One last question, since I can't mail my magicbands to me, I get the paper vouchers instead with the DME documents mailed, right? So at their DME check-in I would have to hand them my paper vouchers, and once arrived at my resort I would get my MBs ?

Yes bring any documentation they mail you as you won't have the magic bands. Worse come to worse the people working at DME can check their systems to verify you but it would save a few minutes to bring whatever is mailed to you.

You will preclear US Customs in Montreal and arrive in Orlando as if a US domestic flight. Be sure to factor in the extra security/customs time into the time you alot for arriving at the airport in Montreal.

Disney will mail you paper documents for DME, however, if you are like me our last trip and forget to bring it they can look you up in their computer at the MDE checkin area and you will still be good to go.

We prefer to retrieve our bags from baggage claim ourselves so we know they have all arrived safe and sound; I have had too many experiences in the past while flying with one or more of my checked baggage taking a little extra vacation that I want to know my baggage arrived when i did, and if not sort out where it is ASAP. But, YMMV and many people enjoy the full DME experience.

Your MagicBands should be waiting for you at your resort -- you will have to get them from the front desk. Disney does not send Magicbands to Canada.

If your flight arrives after 10 PM, bags with or without yellow Magical Express tags will be delivered to the airport carousels for mandatory manual pickup.

If you don't find your bag there, then file a baggage claim before leaving the area.

Do make an effort to bring DME paperwork with you. While the welcoming area CMs are usually accommodating, they need to be vigilant about not offering transportation to walk up persons who might be shills from other transportation services just waiting to catch DME for rules violations at the airport.
