Magical Express for someone added to reservation at check-in

Hi!

I may be joining my sister's family for a couple days of their vacation. Since they have the dining plan, they can't add me to the whole reservation, so they will only be adding me when they check in. Will I be able to use Magical Express? I will be arriving on day 3 of 8 of their vacation and leaving on day 6, so we will not be on any of the same flights.

Anyone with a Wdw resort reservation can use DME. As long as they add you before you need to use it, you should be fine. Are your MDE accounts linked? You will have to add your resort conf # into your account and CALL DME to make a reservation based on your flight info

Yes - we have done this a few times. My sister joined us during the trip so I just added her to our reservation after we checked in and also booked DME for her at that point. She didn't get luggage tags and had to stop briefly at the DME counter to get a voucher to ride the bus but it was smooth as could be. (If she had already had a MB she would have been able to use that but she did not.)

She got a grey MB at check in and was able to use that for the rest of the trip. If you are already on your sisters MDE and have park tickets then she can actually make your FP+ reservations at T60 with the rest of the party even though your not on the reservation yet..

They should be able to add you to the DME list when they add you to their resort reservation. No, you won't get any luggage tags, but that's not a deal breaker.
