Our flight arrives at 10 pm. I was looking for feedback from people who have used ME for later flights. We have always rented a car for our Disney trips and I thought ME would be a good way to save $150 or so.
Thanks for any help!

We talked with a family whose flight arrived a little before midnight, and they didn't arrive at their resort (Polynesian) until 2am due to the fact that the bus made several stops before finally dropping them off at the Poly. This could be an isolated incident, but this was one family's experience.

I just got back from a trip to WDW and DME worked great! Our flight got into MCO at 10:00 from BUF. We went and got our own luggage (because we flew in so late we did not want to have our luggage delivered to the room) and then went straight to the DME welcome centre on the lower level. We showed them our DME ticket booklet that we had received in the mail and then made our way to our bus which was right there. The bus waited for about 10 minutes before it left. We stopped at POFQ first and let one family off and then we continued to POR where we were staying. The bus then went to GF to drop off one couple. We arrived at the resort around 11:20. We will be using them again at the end of August.

I will be arriving @ 10:40 on 8/21, flying SWA. I spoke with ME as that I heard they deliver your luggage in 2-3 hours after arrival and didn't want to get luggage at 2 a.m. She stated that anyone arriving at 11 p.m. or later needs to get thier own luggage , she suggested I get my own as that its so close to 11 pm. SWA is the easiest airline to do this with as that you start off on side A, level 3 at MCO, go to level 2 to get your luggage and go to level one to go to ME. All on side A. I willbe getting my own luggage and I am hopeful that less people fly in this late so the ride shouold not be long. She also tells me that Disney policy is that no person willo wait for a bus for greater than 15 min. that doesn't make it true it just makes is thier policy. Hopefully it will work well.

This is an interesting post, as I hadn't really considered these factors for our October trip. Our flight times have changed - now the US Airways flight we're on gets into Orlando at 10.30pm. However, this is our second flight of the day - and our journey from the UK will have taken us a total of around 15 and a half hours - this and the time differnce will make for a very tired family!

Wondered how easy it would be to pick up our own luggage with US Airways, as we don't like the idea of staying awake another 2/3 hours in our room for luggage - another possiblity of course (but perhaps not ideal) is let Disney deliver it next morning to our room.

We used the Magical Express in May with a Southwest flight arriving after 10 p.m. I can tell you that we planned ahead and packed all our "necessities" in a carry-on bag. Our luggage did not arrive until about 2 a.m. and we had a message on our telephone when we awoke the next morning explaining that our luggage had arrived and we should call the bell desk. Our luggage was delivered after we called the bell desk.

So, either plan ahead and carry-on toiletries and a change of clothes for the next day or pick up your own luggage at the airport.

Either way, it's still a nice perk to have "free" transportation. I know I certainly enjoyed taking advantage of a freebie from Disney! (The lanyards and pins were a nice touch, too!)

Enjoy your trip!

My SIL just returned last week and used ME arriving at about 11:20PM. She had a carryon with her overnight gear and toiletries and when ahe arrived at the WL just called bell services and asked them to hold her luggage until 8AM. She said they knocked on her door at 10 minutes before 8 the next AM with her luggage.

She loved the service....said the time from stepping off the plane to stepping into her room at BW was just 1 hour 10 minutes (and she had to wait for several people in front of her to resolve issues with the BW front desk before she could check in) She hates driving by herself in strange territory at night so she LOVED the service.

Can't wait to see how it goes for us in Nov.
