Magical Express - Changing Reservation question

Ok, here is my scenario. I booked a DVC rental/reservation through an individual and he set up ME for me. We have now added a night through Disney (not DVC, just a regular reservation) due to a better flight time - early afternoon the day before our DVC reservation starts vs EARLY morning the day of the DVC reservation. I know I can make the ME reservation for my regular Disney reservation, but what, if anything, needs to be done to the ME reservation I had for the DVC reservation? I am just changing the arrival date only, not the departure date. Will it matter if we don't show up for the ME reservation we previously had? Do I need to have him cancel that one? Help!

There should not be a problem if you don’t show up for the DME trip from MCO to WDW. That happens routinely when folks send their luggage via DME while renting a car rather than riding the bus (not the way it’s supposed to work, but there are many reports where this has been done; there’s even a sticky on this board discussing this).

If you feel you do need to cancel and assuming the DVC owner has given you the confirmation number for your booking, you can call DME directly at 866-599-0951 and use your DVC confirmation number to access the DME reservations for that part of your trip. Make certain they only cancel the inbound reservation if you decide to do this.

Thank you! If it won't hurt anything, then I will probably leave it alone as I'm afraid it would somehow get messed up if we tried to change it.

I’d answered you on your Resorts board thread, but even if they somehow messed it up, you could do it again by calling Dme or even wait until you’re there to set it up.

There are some here who say Dvc has to call Dvc for dme, but the one time I did that the did had no clue. Ever since then I use the online form or call main dme. There have been no issues.

You arrange it for your actual arrival. You can cancel your initial arrival if you wish. And make sure your departure is set up.

On my last trip I called at something like 11pm for departure for a very early morning flight because st the last minute I decided I didn’t want to take Lyft. I had no issues. Not saying no one would, but you can arrange your departure once you’re there, if you think it got messed up.
