hi there.
i remember from the past , when your ME tags comes in the mail, it will have your flight information on it.
(arrival , departure , airline info).

what happens if while you are still vacationing at the resort, but need to change the flight coming home for earlier (departure)...which means the flight info on the tags will be wrong... Is it just a simple as to let the front desk know and they can just put you on the ME needed for your new flight ?

There are no DME tags for the outbound trip so if your plans change just go to the front desk at least a day prior to checkout. You will receive a voucher on or under your door the day prior to departure with your outbound bus time and must present this voucher to board the bus.

For the Resort Airline Check in just follow the instructions that come with the voucher -this is optional. If your using a participating airline you can choose to check your bags at the resort between certain hours - IIRC between 5am and 1pm.
 
thanks for speedy response. I thought that the outbound flight was on the vouchers as well...so now,, it seems there is no problem to worry about...
its just that while vacationing on site, out of a party of 6, 3 of them might have to leave a few days earlier (though not by choice !) thanks

If so just go to the front desk and let them know - they can change the reservation and print a voucher for the new outbound trip.
 
RAC at the resort recently had a schedule change, closes at noon now for luggage check in for your flight home.

If you've changed a flight call ME directly, their phone number is on your transportation document. Front desk can update you too, but I like to verify with the "source" that they have my updated info.

You don't need new luggage tags for your homebound flight, but you DO need to be rescheduled for pickup and you DO need a new voucher to board the DME. YOu can not just show up 3 days early because your plans change..

The OP is talking about a change to the outbound / return to the airport that hasn't yet been determined.

OP -if the party does have to leave early just go to the concierge at your WDW resort and they will change the info and print you a voucher for the new outbound trip.
 
If someone needs to make a change to the going home part of Magical Express, it is better to wait until you get there so you don't mess up the DME reservation going to your resort.

Then it is best to make any needed changes as soon as possible and the normal deadline is morning of the day before the day that that person will leave.

Separate DME confirmations should be delivered to your room if persons will go home on different days. For everyone, if you don't get a confirmation on the morning of the day before the day you will leave or if you need to make more last minute corrections, go do that at the front desk before heading for the parks.

Shorter notice is not out of the question but DME bus scheduling may already be made for the day and you may end up being fitted in a little earlier than expected such as 4 hours before a domestic flight.

If your DME booklet has blank bus vouchers in it you may not fill those in yourself with bus times of your choice and use them to return home.

Remove all yellow DME tags from your bags before going home.

Flight info isn't listed on the actual luggage tags. That info used to be listed on the bus vouchers. But, we no longer use vouchers, we use MBs.
If your departure flight changes, for whatever reason, just go to the resort front desk the day before you want to head out. Give them the new flight info, and they will get it to DME. No tags are used for the flight home. You just take your checked bags to RAC, the morning of departure (unless your flight is before 8:15ish), get the bags checked to your home airport, get your boarding passes, and then report to the DME bus stop about 10-15 mins prior to the stated p/u time.
